I think that you underestimate how much this means and to how many people. Please reconsider.

This will significantly reduce the number of people who visit the site and the amount of time people spend on the site. Is this the intention?

There are so few message boards on the Internet as it is these days. All we have is 'Social Media', and there is NOTHING 'social' about Social Media. Keep this active source of discussion alive! Anyone who really can't handle other opinions, or stupid people, can fill up their ignore lists or just stay away all together; don't punish everyone just because of some stupid people, and some other overly offended people... Please!

This is a terrible decision. What could possibly be the reason for something so major?

This is such a shame. I have been using this board for years and would hate to see it go. This is the only place I go to see other peoples comments about movies and t.v shows.

I've been a long time browser at IMDb. One of the biggest highlights for me is looking at the message boards of each movie I'm interested. I ignore the negative ones and just focus on topics that help me understand the movies/shows better. This is a sad day for me!

I have been coming here since 2007, and enjoy discussing various movies on the individual sites, as well as the general boards. I love reading others' perspectives and also learn about obscure good movies that I may have otherwise overlook. You have a huge message board base, and I think once the message boards go, a lot of people will go as well. Yes, you have trolls and other instigators, and I realized that sometimes this can leave this site, and the company, open to potential lawsuits, but eliminating avatars, emoticons, reinstating captcha, and being more rigorous about administrating the boards, may help alleviate this.

Please don't do this! Although there is obviously some problems with trolls, there is also a really lovely community there too. I really like being able to discuss shows with others who love it! It's my main use of your website!

Pleas don't shut the message boards down. The main reason I go to your site is to see what other people have to say about my favorite movies/tv shows/actors. Without the boards I really have no reason to use your site.

Please, re consider. I'm a long iMDB user, i love the board. I know that nowadays is filled with people who only insult each other, and don't have any kind of respect, but closing the board is a punishment for those who always behaved as normal people should do: with respect.

Please, please keep these boards open. The IMDB boards are wonderful place to discuss movies, and one of the few outlets I've been comfortable with in doing so. Closing the message boards is a huge mistake.

I find the message boards extremely useful. After I view a program/movie, 99% of the time I come directly to IMDB for others' opinions. We're adults and can weed through the garbage. Please reconsider your position. Thank you!
