For me the only 2 reasons I continue to use IMDB is (1) to look up which actor/actress is in a particular film and (2) for the message boards. The boards are a wonderful place to get my questions answered (sometimes based on the most obscure, vague information that I can remember from 20 years ago), connect with other movie watchers and also to help out other people with their movie related questions. I think it would be a huge determent to IMDB to get rid of these boards. The boards help to foster a sense of community for many people as well as being a helpful place for people to rediscover those forgotten films of yesteryear. To punish the vast majority of the people who utilize your product/site is simply in a word foolish.

Please hold your horses and let the message boards live! If you don't, it is as good as closing down your business (though I'm not sure if I'm 100% correct on that)

IMDB will risk losing traffic to their website if the messageboards shutdown. I'll just use wiki instead for information on movies and TV.

The message boards are the only useful way of finding other peoples opinions and 'extra' information about a film. How are we supposed to replicate that on facebook page?!

The IMDB boards were a great source of info and analysis. I would hate to see it go.

Well this closing down thing sucks. Please consider keeping things up. Many people use the "I Need To Know" board to help find a movie or show that their failed memory has deleted and some member of this online community knew exactly what show/movie they were talking about and led them to the info.

Now more than ever people need IMDB's message boards.
IMDb's message boards are a life-saving sanctuary.

The Outlander message board is the best source of info, and has very good, enlightening discussions. There is a minimum of troll activity there. Please keep it there for us fans.

I am so upset by this. The message boards on IMDB are the best source of movie/show discussion. IMDB is known and admired, more than anything, for it's message boards. I disagree with this decision so much.

The board definitely needs to remain open. Terminating it will serve no honest purpose. The loyal and dedicated community is probably larger than your "research" might think.

Please reconsider this decision. Thousands like myself come to IMDb almost solely to discuss films, exchange news and get useful information. We've made friends all over the world. Any forum can have problems but ending it is not the answer. IMDb will lose its meaning without the message boards and the loyalty of its users. Please think this through again.

Don't close the boards, please! Some of my best friends are on here and this is my only means of communication with them. Don't take that from any of us.

The message boards are one of the reason i go on IMDb every single day. No one will ever post on the facebook page, neither will they on the Twitter page. It is an horrible decision that show that they doesnt care for anyone beside themself. Its a shelfish decision that will, with time, signal the end of this website.
