I've learned more about films by chatting to members of the boards than any other source. It's a vital hub of information that enhances knowledge and appreciation of the media. Wy shut it down?

The trolls helped ruin this for those of us who truly like to discuss films and tv on these boards. Don't let them win.

For the entirety of my adulthood, this site has become part of my moviegoing, moviewatching and TV-show watching experience. Knowing I can come on here and discuss any movie or show, or read discussions between others, even on older or more obscure movies. Such a great forum for this, and so far nothing else exists like it. The hate and negativity was growing and growing but alas, taking this away is sad.

Will be very sorry to see this feature go.

IMDB would be a significantly less popular and less worthwhile place without the message boards.

The message board is the main reason why I go to IMDb (if I want to know who's the director or the DP of a movie, I can use Wikipedia). If they terminate it, I've just decided I will never go to that website again.

Very sad to see the forum end. While it does get trolls it also provides great insight, debate and facts.

There aren't any other good places to discuss movie theories or explain obscure things in movies or tv shows. Don't shut it down

That's what happens when little guys are gobbled up by big corporations. Amazon is making a HUGE mistake! You cannot replace the message boards on Facebook unless you create a separate page for each title. STUPID!

Keep the boards open for robust and informative exchange of views of films that we all love!

Have a heart, Mr. Needham. The message boards have so much beauty and insight. Don't let the trolls win. I hope you will reconsider this decision. Your site and the message boards in particular have opened my eyes over recent years to a wealth of cinematic treasures. Interacting with many amazing and knowledgeable people on here is informative and, above all, great fun. Please, please keep the boards open. I don't want to lose so many friends and acquaintances and such a development would leave a hole in my existence. Sharing and learning and appreciating film and differing tastes and understandings are facilitated by this wonderful function. I think in many ways the message boards are the life blood of IMDb. People who have contributed to the site over many years exchange information and their knowledge and it enriches so many. You would be lessening your site if you take this drastic and regrettable step. I beg you with all my heart to reconsider. IMDb and the message boards are so much of what I am and so much of what many others are. I beseech you. Keep the message boards open. They and those on them have made IMDb what it is today. Yours sincerely, Roger Pulbrook (RogerTheMovieManiac88)

Proper movie discussions simply aren't possible in the comment section on social media sites. I would hate to see the message boards dying completely and killing the only useful platform for movie fans to exchange their views with like-minded people.

Spent 12 good years interacting with some amazing passionate people on the message boards, they really can't take that away from people.

As a long time user of the boards I am gutted that this is going. I can't believe that only a small proportion of your users go on there... and conflicting messages about data/traffic and then positive user experiences?! Which is it IMDB?

I won't be visiting if the boards close.

Use a 3 strike option to kill the trolls.
