Somehow, I think this decision is more about server space than "trolls" and "no longer a positive experience".
Remember, Amazon—I can buy things at other online stores.

I need my message boards back, imbd is useless without them. If i wanna strictly talk about a certain show i dont want to have to do this on facebook, do you know how long that thread will be.

I am passionate about films, and IMDb is a site where I love to share my thoughts, discuss and analyse the films I love. I'm pretty upset about this decision to close the message boards.

Most stupid decision ever. The messageboards is the biggest reason why i even visit the site to begin with. You get all kinds of information from the boards, thing you would otherwise miss, and even though there are lot of bashing there are usefull and interesting discussions going on.

Its really not on shutting down the message boards for a minority of morons, simply stricter sign up procedures would root most of them out,plenty of volunteers who would want to help police the system as well, please dont do this, its a snap decision that will NOT pay dividends to imdb as users desert in their droves, genuine users who benefit imdb.
