Keep the damn boards alive! It's the place where I go after watching Asian movies to discuss details I didn't get or help someone with my take on the movie. This cannot compare to damn Facebook and Twitter crap.

Please don't take away the message boards. They are 90% of the reason I use this website. I come to imdb to read the opinions of others to see if I want to watch it or not, I like to see if someone else has the same thoughts as I do on certain things, I like to find out new things that others may know but I don't, and I like to see/have discussions with people about a movie or situation that may be different points of view or opinions. Plus so much more! As for the "trolls" or people that leave "bad" comments, there will always be those certain people, and all of us know that. Please don't take away something so many of us enjoy and count on in our day to day just because of the people that enjoy and now looks like will succeed in ruining things for everyone else.

The message boards are one of the main reasons I come to IMDb. I don't do the social media thing, avoid it like the plague, actually. I don't post often on IMDb, but I love to read other's feedback. Please don't do away with this!

I've been using the boards for well over a decade. This is just a slap in the face to all the people who have been fans and supporters of IMDb through the years. Don't let the vocal minority of trolls and haters ruin it for everyone.

The messageboards are the best thing on IMDB. Bored, curious about a movie, want to know more about a movie or tv-show, wanna read hilarous comments about that movie that you hated? Read the messageboards!

I've been posting on IMBD for years. It's made my passion for movies grow much stronger, and it's a great way to discuss ideas and theories. I hope that you reconsider and keep the message boards!

As it stands, the main reason I look up movies is to find a description of the plot and the message boards. Imdb doesn't provide plots. So my only reason to visit the site - the message boards - is gone. Wikipedia can provide all the information i need.

After nearly a decade of conversing with the people on the IMDb boards I am very sad about the prospect that it it may be shut down soon. I would like to ask you to please keep it open. I understand that IMDb is owned by Amazon, and I am a long time prime member who spends a good deal each month on amazon. I note this because I feel like loyalty should count for something. Please leave the boards open.

IMDB has a wonderful message board feature that is simply irreplaceable to movie fans. Any movie, any star, filmmaker and many genres are there to be found and discussed - often providing an invaluable source of reference and information. It is unique, extensive and most of all fun. Sharing thoughts, opinions and information with fellow movie-lovers all around the globe has been a wonderful outlet for me and many many others. It is a genuinely fulfilling social playground for film buffs worldwide and an invaluable service. Please keep it going.......there is nowhere else like it.

One of the main reasons I love IMDB is thanks to the message boards. A fun and often very informative place of discussion. There are many films out there which are overlooked or unknown and the message board is like the only source for discussion and gathering information for these films, the website will definitely not be the same without this quality, I absolutely see no reasonable reason for the decision to stop it!!

without people talking about movies, and asking questions about them, less interest will be generated, leading to fewer people going to see a specific movie. especially lower budget movies, without the big marketing budget behind them, will suffer. how will they now spread the word, and get fans to talk about a certain movie.

The only reason I use IMDB is because of the message boards. If they are taken down, I will have literally no reason to go onto IMDB anymore.
