imdb message boards have been one of my regular places to go on-line and I'll miss them. Message boards in general serve a niche that social networking misses.

Been on these boards for 15 years and have no Facebook (Nor will I). This was a great place to chit-chat about movies/TV with no stupid social media ties. Please leave it. It's not hurting anything.

This is horrible. So much movie talk and movie knowledge will be wasted. I have learned so much about movies from the general boards, and I have been able to talk about little known movies on the individual movie boards. Perhaps they were not the most lucrative feature of this site, but absolute shut-down is an atrocious idea.

The message board is the strongest and liveliest aspect of Imdb. The way it covers every topic whether a person the film itself or just the SUBJECT of the film (see lost city of Z , JFK etc) makes it better than almost any alternative board that imdv may use.

I enjoy the boards and haven't ever been affected by the negativity; that is outweighed by the better side of people. Please don't remove it.

The IMDb message boards are the reason why I go onto IMDb. It's an amazing feature and shutting it down would be a huge mistake.

I am not a social media person and this is where I am able to enjoy views and creativity about my favorite shows and movies. Please don't shut down the message board!

I'd be lost if it wasn't for forums clarifying things in complex movies.

What good are movie websites if you are denied the opportunity to discuss the certain movies with people on that site?!

We will be losing the most useful, entertaining and enjoyable part of IMDB. Discussing ideas and opinions about movies is the main reason I've been coming to this site, ever since it was imdb.org. Real shame to lose that facility.

This site really has been a godsend for me over the decades. Being able to talk, without profanity, is very unusual in this day and age on the internet. There really isn't another site that comes close to the vast knowledge that flows through the boards. These boards are far more unique than any social media website can ever come close to. Please rethink your decision before you lessen the best message board in the entire world.

There is no other place on the internet where fans of classic cinema can enjoy intelligent exchange of opinion, good matured debate and some occasional high spirited tomfoolery. There is no place for that on social media.

One of IMDb's best features is the message boards. There is nowhere else on the internet where movies can be discussed in such detail. If this feature leaves IMDb, I can only imagine Netflix or some other film platform would pick up the slack and become the new place to talk about film.

The message boards are for a community to get together and help each other better understand what they are watching or listening to. It's a great way for people to express their views on a particular show or movie. There will always be trolls in every page there is a spot to write in, this can't be helped in any way. I love to ask questions about movies or shows or topics that are out there, comment on things that I do know something about and engage in friendly conversation. Please keep the message boards going, no one is forced to write in them and those that do should learn restraint in engaging a troll or in their own words when chatting in a multi culture room. Thanks for all you put together for us, I for one really appreciate all aspects of IMDB :)

From Catalonia, IMDB message boards are so important. There is no database like this, to share opinions in every movie in the world, past and future.

The message boards are the only reason I visit IMDB. I like to read other users' perspectives and interpretations of the movies I watch, especially when I don't understand something or feel I have missed something. Even for cute, fun, non-challenging movies I like to know what others think. The trolls don't really bother me. Oh wow there are rude people on the Internet shock horror! LOL! Please keep the message boards!!! Did the new president have anything to do with this decision to ban discussions and silence those who disagree with him?
movie fans need a place to talk films
