The reason given for disabling the IMDB message boards is absurd. It's about controlling and dictating to others what a positive experience should be. Who is going to visit the site, if there is no cyber community activity? Social media is what the WWW provides and what it is about. If someone gets upset because they are precious and challenged and don't have a backbone, they can go somewhere else.

I haveposted on imdb for ten years and would be very sad to see it go. If there are issues with the way it is being used then a lot of users would probably welcome more moderated servers

This decision is beyond terrible. Losing the movie boards will be devastating to film fans worldwide. There is NO other place in the WORLD where, after you watched some obscure film, go and find people talking about it. And then find out more, enhance your knowledge, learn new viewpoints and opinions, and maybe engage in the discussion.

am deleting my Amazon Prime account and IMDb apps from my phone and tablet if this decision to remove the comments board on IMDb isn't reversed, it's the only reason I use IMDb

Please keep the message boards. It's so nice having the ability to go to separate pages for different movies/shows all on one site. I've been going to imdb to read the messages for over ten years. I don't use any other social media so this was a nice alternative. Please reconsider.

The main reason I go to IMDb is to go on the message boards. I have had some great conversations, and I have read some really well thought out posts by devoted fans that I strive to be like.
If this is about trolls, then there really isn't any need to close the message boards because of them, there are far more legitimate posters than their are trolls, although I know that some boards are worst than others, but they can and will get better.
If this is because people are moving to the social media version of IMDb, you have to keep in mind that not everyone uses social media (I have nothing against it, I just don't use it). Please do not take away the boards, because they are fun places to be.

Seriously? Silencing and scattering our voice? So how can I jump off IMDb to a specific movie discussion on social media? Stop destroying integrated social channels and in-depth discussions. Stop destroying the your COMMUNITY BASE.

Dear IMDB. I've been posting here for the past 17 years. Yes, there are some trolls on the message boards, but why not remove them instead of everyone? This is been my #1 source for films and TV, so hope you reconsider. Thanks for you consideration.
