Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

The only reason I come to IMDB is for the message boards.

I use these message boards almost every day. I see a lot of movies and enjoy other people's perspectives on the movies and tv shows I see. I can't believe you would want to get rid of these message boards. They are one of the best things on the internet. Please reconsider. Not all of us use Facebook, twitter, Snapchat etc. but many of us would rather use these relevant message boards

I use use boards for comments on movies I want to see and some that I have seen. If I have a question about a movie, or something I ddidn't understand, I come here. My go to place.

Whenever I see a new movie in the cinema I look forward to checking out the comments on IMDb. There's so much wisdom and knowledge on these boards. Please don't remove them.

Horrible, insensitive and wrong. From a commercial point of view, also. What's the difference between ImDB and any other website ? People come here and discuss stuff. If they can't anymore, why even bother to come?

I love the message board

Even though I have dealt with my fair few of annoying trolls, I still enjoy the message boards as I can discuss or ask questions with people that have seen or enjoyed the same movies that I do, especially the ones where my friends haven't and won't see

It provides a service not available to movie lovers anywhere else, especially questions about old movies.

Please keep the message boards. They are the main draw for visiting imdb for me and there are countless others who feel the same way as I do. This irresponsible decision will cost you a great deal of traffic. You could have at least kept the boards on a different server.

Don't get rid of the best feature!!

I have joined IMDb back in 2009 (7 years now! ^_^) and it's really sad that IMDb's planning on shutting down the Discussion Boards. The Discussion Boards are one of the most important parts of IMDb and where many people jump into, to discuss, to know more of and to search old films and series that they couldn't remember anymore (including myself). Please, IMDb, don't get rid of the Discussion Boards they are extremely useful for fans and casuals alike to get together to talk about content we/they like.

The Messages boards may have had their issues with trolls but that doesn't mean they should be shut down. They should be fixed! IMDb is the only place where one could discuss every movie and TV show in existence. Please don't kill it IMDb!

HORRIBLE idea. Yes, there are some ruining the board experience for others. But for the most part the IMDB boards are the only place to go to discuss any movie, tv show, etc. Facebook and Twitter just don't cut it for discussing, socializing and answering each other's questions. I do not understand this move, please reconsider.

I am severely disabled and housebound. I use the imdb boards every day and this has a great effect on my wellbeing. The decision to remove the message boards is incorrect. The ability to discuss film and television for others is vital for myself and others, and promotes friendship and demonstrates the love and joy that movies have on people's lives. Please do not remove the message boards. There is no other place on the internet where one can find any movie or television show, and immediately strike up a conversation, engage in discussion, and to connect with fans. Please IMDB, do not underestimate the importance of the message boards, or how severely IMDB will be diminished by their loss. Sincerely, Chris Down.

Unless IMDb has a better way of communication with all movie lovers, then we must save the message boards. This is the only application I use on my phone. Love the message boards. Hate the trollers, but still not enough in my opinion to just shut it down.
