I enjoy the message boards, its not intrusive to anyone, they just have to not open them. Maybe some monitoring of the boards to stop some of the negative messages. But to abandon something so unique to this website is crazy. Where else can you unapologetically start ranting about a movie you like out of the blue?

The only reason i have an IMDb account is to respond to opinions with my own and having thoughtful conversation. After this, if they go through with it, I'll delete the app and my account because there will be absolutely no use for them. It's bad on their part because their website traffic will go down sufficiently from this. unfortunate, but it was fun while it lasted

I hate social media and cannot imagine how to ask there a question about a film and getting an answer at all. Also, I find it very interesting to read other people's views of film or scenes and taking that on board. How will social medias help with that?

I'll be interested to see how their usage drops if they go through with this terrible decision. 90% of my time on imdb is to use messaage boards. Using social media can in no way replace a message board for a specific movie.

As a teacher, I can't (shouldn't) be on Facebook or twitter- please don't take this message board away from people who are dedicated to certain tv shows.......i nconsider it one of the "safer" forms of social media :-)

Find a way to keep a beautiful thing alive. If that means a small annual fee, I'd pay it if it meant better moderation and less trolls.

I love the message boards to discuss movies with fans! I have had great conversations about film's meanings and endings. I have also had so many great films recommended to me on those boards.

TERRIBLE idea, shutting down the forums; they are 99% of why I came to IMDb, and the sole reason why I signed up for an account.

These boards are the only place I know of where I can find quick, catch up answers for TV shows.

Wouldn't it make more sense to just permanently ban the users who have had the most complaints made about them, and a new rule that 1-2 reportable offences gets a user banned. Why should we all have to suffer the loss of the Boards?
