I've been a member of IMDb for 11 years. This was my go-to site for researching movies, having fun conversations with other fans, & having fun rants as well. Closing down the Boards is The Single Stupidest Thing you could have done. There is no way to have those same fun conversations on fb or twitter. I refuse to sign up for either for something like this. The Boards were where I could find obscure, half-remembered movies/actors from my childhood. Where I could learn interesting bits of trivia & gain helpful knowledge from other users, while also sharing my knowledge with them. I could get other fans thoughts on movies I was thinking about watching & ask follow-up questions to their opinions. Yes, there were some trolls & jerks on the Boards. They are EVERYWHERE, including fb & twitter. It would be nice to at least be able to go back & look at past entries on the Boards, but really, you should never have closed them at all. BRING THEM BACK, PLEASE!

Don't understand the reasoning behind removing the message boards. Every time I watched a movie, I would visit IMDB to check out the boards for that film to get other's perspectives!

The main reason I went to IMBD was to view the message boards after watching a movie or tv show. I very rarely go to the site now. Usually only go to look up an actor now. Pleas bring back the message board.

Please bring back message boards, i have been using them since last 11 years. After watching a movie i always check out the message board to check out about movie from other people perspectives and any plotholes or missing links. Infact i use to spent more time on a movie imdb page than on the movie itself

For the last decade, the first thing I did after watching a film was head over to the IMDB message boards to get an insight into other peoples view on the film, plot holes, good views and bad. It's ruined watching films for me - now when I've watched a film by myself I feel like I don't know what to do. Massive mistake to take it down which will ultimately kill off IMDB, it will become like any other movie site.. Amazon don't care - they make enough money fleecing people of Amazon prime money they forgot they signed up for 2 years ago. Sad really.

My quality of life has been diminished by the loss of these boards. As a lover of film, tv, my place to go for great info has been destroyed. Every time I discovered or re-discovered a movie or show I went to imdb not only for facts but for the delightful insight/discussion of the message boards. Who gives a fk about trolls, etc. - easily ignored by those of us who care about the content. I never personally posted but I sure as hell appreciated those who did and read it more than I read ANY other message boards, and actually pretty much exclusively. Please bring this back, including the past content. It's amazing to me to realize how much I depended on this and now it's gone.

BIG MISTAKE shutting down the boards. Too many reasons to name. This will inevitably hurt site traffic. Trolls can be dealt with much more efficiently than shutting down the boards. It's like chopping off your arm

It may have had its flaws but it was a great place to talk about my fav films, tv and stars. I always headed there to find out the latest on my favorite shows.
