I've been coming to the message boards since early 2000's, I love seeing people's opinions on movies/award shows/television etc. It's a wonderful community and it should not leave us

PLEASE do not shut down the message boards! No matter how much hatred and vitriol that has been spewed upon these boards in the last months, there is still good here. Good people who get genuinely want to discuss films, directors and actors in a positive way. You've been monitoring the boards for such a long time now, I know you've seen the people having and pleading for respectable conversations about film. Instead of shutting off the boards, why not actually MONITOR the negative posts instead of deleting the most insignificant slights that people get worked up over. Block and ban the ridiculous posters, the trolls, the jerks who deliberately bait then berate the innocent of us who want to actually want to find out information about films; current, past, golden age Hollywood, international films. Shutting down the boards is not the right thing to do. This is not the right way to go about handling this situation. Again, maybe if we had some ACTUALmonitors moderators and administrators who did their jobs and did them CORRECTLY, we wouldn't have this problem in the first place to where you feel the need to shut down your message boards. This is sad. iMDB has ZERO backbone and no principles. I am ashamed to have been part of this community for so long.

Love the boards to see did others interpret the movie the same way I did. I never had an issue with trolling

This is the main reason I come to IMDb. Once hear, I usually discover more and explore a bit more. While I can find other message boards, it is hard to find all tv/movies in one place. I love to come on and see the questions people ask about shows or movies. There will always be trolls, but no one is forced to be here.

The message boards are the only reason I come to IMDb.

This news has made me really sad. For so many years now the IMDb message boards have been a nice get away from the world where I can immerse myself in my love for cinema, shared with that of others. I just think it's really great to be able to go onto IMDb and see what people are talking about in film. Every film and every actor has their own board, the most obscure films and actors can be discussed there. I don't think any other forum will be able to replicate it. It is a treasure.

We need IMDB, I use if I have questions about movies about the plot etc or if I have a question about songs. It is really the best feature on IMDB.

While some boards are over run with imbeciles, most are respectful gathering places for people to discuss movies, tv and sport, something that SM, frequented by 10 million people, can't offer

I don't often comment in the forums, but I read them frequently. They're a invaluable resource for commentary, questions, trivia, history and facts, especially for more obscure films. No social media platform is going to be able to come close to duplicating them, not in form, not in function, or certainly not in their ability to archive material and make it accessible. In short, I'm not going to find insightful discussions written 10 years ago about a little-seen film from 1972 on your facebook page. Please keep keep the forums open and active and continue to make IMDB a resource for film lovers and rare titles as much as it is casual movie-goers and block busters.

I don't post often but I spend more time reading the message boards than any other part of IMDB. Highly doubt I'll be accessing them in the future without the forums.

This has been my #1 place to go for movie chat for at least a decade. There's too much here to archive on my own. Please keep the boards active.

Please don't close the message boards, they are the only reason most people even visit IMDb

Please don't shut the boards down, I've never trolled once. It's letting them win. Imagine they were (sorry to use this analogy, I mean no offence) terrorists, we would never stop living our lives just because of hate. Love always wins don't give in to hate.
