My wife and I met on the IMDB forums. That was the most positive thing to ever happen to me. The amount of wonderful people I've met, the information I've gained, and the greater appreciation for film I've developed because of discussion on these boards... how can you shut it down just because of a few trolls? Reconsider, please.

We can all go to Wikipedia or Rotten Tomatoes to look up a cast or rate a movie. Casting agents have their own websites. IMDB was special because it let you talk to people from all over the world about a film or tv show. Maybe it wasn't something you did ever day but it was the reason IMDB stayed in your mind as a place to check.

Do not delete the message boards please! I've been using this since 2005 I met a lot of friends on here plus how do we know if a movies worth it or not come on ? Please!

There is really no need to close the message boards. Sure, there are always going to be annoying trolls and immature users, but there are a lot of us who work IN the entertainment industry and the IMDb boards are an invaluable tool for professionals and fans alike. Closing the message boards will be a mistake.

I would miss these user boards terribly! I feel like I belong to a community, sometimes it's almost like watching a much-loved movie with a bunch of friends in my living room as we comment back and forth while all watching a live show. Ignore or disable the trolls if you must, but please don't close the boards!

I love the boards. Alot, I can talk and get ideas. Alot of people are idiots yes but people need to learn to not paid attention if you can't handle that boards aren't for you.

I hope that the IMDB will reconsider closing its message boards. It's been a wealth of information and a chance to chat with people who enjoy coming here and discussing shows, performers, etc.
