IMDB has great contributions from several people. Especially on older movies, there are threads which are a wonder to read, about small curiosities, small discussions, theories, analysis. People who watched the movie when it came out at the time, in the cinema. How are we going to discuss The Third Man on Facebook? Or It Happened One Night? How can we do this? It will be a real disappointment to have this shut down. And although I don't have many posts on the IMDB message boards, everytime I see a movie I go to the message board of that movie to read about the movie. I will stop using IMDB altogether.

IMDB forums have a cultural significance, They're a place where people can communicate freely, privately or not, they're a comunity of people from all over the world. They can't be canceled for monetization, or profit reason. When culture and people are involved, one needs to see beyond those. Keep the forums. Thanks

Shutting down the boards is going to be a huge mistake. People rely on this site on a daily basis. Stop the corporate greed.

Please thoughtfully reconsider the ramifications of running a website that depends heavily on user contributions, ratings, etc., while removing the primary draw for many users.

I realize there are a lot of trolls on the boards, but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. It's been a valuable place to meet fellow film freaks, with some people meeting close friends or even spouses on these boards.

I've been using the IMDb message boards for 12 years now. Honestly I really doubt I will continue to visit this website if they are disabled. Why should a few trolls ruin it for everyone? This will be a terrible move if they take them away.

It's a crying shame that shutting down such a popular way of connecting with other film fans on cinema's premier website is even being considered.
I don't bother with Facebook or Twitter and, if the IMDb message boards go down, neither has or will become my destination of choice to discuss movies in any depth.

There are lots of movie info sites, but none offering such an interesting/hilarious user-generated content. (The infamous troll-infested GoT board is not all there is, guys!) Looks like you want to lose the community to Reddit. Your choice.
