This sucks! I hate that everything has to be through Facebook. I don't necessarily want all of my Facebook friends reading all of my comments about shows and movies but I do like discussing with other fans. Especially about old shows! Please reconsider!

The boards are a community. why would you take away such a wonderful place for movie lovers? and for what? social media? please tell us how can we discuss film and i mean real film on facebook or twitter were all we see are your chosen headlines? this is a terrible and disappointing decision.

I have been using IMDB Message Boards constantly for 15+ years!! There is no other resource to find and learn information about older stars like Hollywood Golden Age greats than hearing from experts or older fans on the boards. Or to learn things about more obscure actors.

I will not need IMDb if the message boards are removed. It's the first place I go to answer questions about television shows and movies, both new and old. I love to read other peoples' opinions, thoughts, comments, and sharing of trivia about very specific subjects. It's very educational, and it's great to read viewers' perspectives from all over the world. There is no place on the internet like it. If you are an old film buff, it's fantastic. Whoever is behind this should consider the consequences. You are taking away your best and most unique feature, and the only thing that differentiates your site from all the others. It's your best selling point, and to take it away is just plain stupid. When the message boards are gone, IMDb might as well go too.

The only reason I visit IMDb is to read what others think about the movies and shows I watch. Without the message boards, I won't be visiting IMDb anymore.
