I love film and television and have been using IMDb for a decade to learn, explore and share discussion about actors and films that I may not have come across without it. I have no interest in switching to other social media forums and will no doubt only use IMDb in future to glance at an actors credits, if the proposed deletion of the message boards goes ahead. Admittedly, there are some foolish comments from certain people on the boards, which I can only assume is the reason for this as a way to save time and money administrating them. However, by deleting the boards only lets the trolls win and in doing so tarnishes what IMDb was set up for, as a way to share a love of film and television!

I love this site and the boards. I'm hopeful you'll give third thoughts to closing them.

Don't close it, it's great for seeing what others thought about a movie or show you just watched and see the things they critique about it and ask members about questions you had of the film.

Please don't shut this valuable service; the ability to visit and discuss films, shows, actors, etc,, spanning a century is priceless!

IMDB would truly be lacking without message boards. I go to the message boards to check movie opinions daily and the site/app would truly be lacking without the option to do so.

I'd hate to see this go. My kids have used this open forum to discuss film, etc for over a decade. It would be a tragedy to lose it as it's still one of the best!!

I hope you will rethink this terrible decision. Many IMDB fans like myself will not have much reason to visit the site at all without the message boards.

Please don't close one of the most important parts of this website. I LOVE the message boards and visit them several times a day. Something would really be lost without them.

One of the only reasons I use IMDb is to look up the messaging boards and see other people's interpretations of movies!

It won't help, but I'll sign it, because I want the forums to remain. If you get rid of the boards and PM's, IMDb is going to be just another Wikipedia, nothing more. Is that what you want? Drastic decisions like this never helped a company. It won't help you.

I visit IMDb only because of its forum. I rarely write but I love to read others thoughts on films, for hours sometimes. Please don't take this unique and awesome place away.
