Please keep the message boards. They are the first place I go to when I want to talk about a TV show or movie. If the boards are gone, I see no point in keeping the IMDB app.

I go to imdb specifically to use the message boards. I enjoy the discussion, I learn thing I may have missed and enjoy hearing people's theories for ambiguous endings. The facebook page isn't a substitute at all. It's not specific to the show or movie you're interested. You're shooting yourselves in the foot.

The boards are the only reason I hit the imdb website every day, multiple times per day. Keep the boards alive!

I, for one, like the message boards on IMDB. Facebook is becoming a wasteland of negativity and craziness, no matter which side of the political spectrum one is on. I don't find much of that here. I come to find out what others think about a show or some arcane piece of trivia. I wasnt even asked how I felt about the message boards. I have found them to be a tremendous resource of information and opinions. Some of my viewing choices have been based on those opinions. I hope you change your mind and leave the boards intact.

I use the boards to find out information about not just the shows and movies, but the ratings and whether or not a show will be cancelled or renewed for the next season. The small issues with, no more than 5% of the people using the boards for negative usage is not a reason to close them down. The other 95% of us have discussions, be they negative or positive, about a movie or TV show. The discussion boards give people something to bond over, or find out information that we would have never known otherwise. Please reconsider the issue.

IMDB poster since 2005 -- please keep the boards open; social media doesn't provide the same level of discourse and interaction. I want to converse with IMDB posters, not post in text speak via Twitter.

Please dont shut the message boards down, i use them almost daily to see peoples reactions/thoughts on movies and tv shows.

While I enjoy the whole site, taking away the privilege of discussing movies, shows, and other things sort of takes away what separates this site from many. I've learned a lot more things from going on message boards than simply looking at production and normal stats. I hope this can get overturned.

Closing down the message board is a mistake. Yes, we sometimes argue and disagree. I admit some of the trolls can be annoying. But the boards can be very constructive and informative

The legitimate, intelligent posters far outweigh the trolls. The message boards provide a wealth of information that make me enjoy shows and movies even more. Disabling them is a bad move!

I love IMDb's message boards and don't want them to go! I only lurked, but I use them a lot to gain other people's opinions on movies I've just watched for the first time, or to see if others found a certain part confusing, etc. It will be a shame to lose the board. Don't shut it down just because of a small number of individuals that abuse it!

There is no reasoning to disable the message board on IMBD . This is a way for users to discuss movies , tv shows and about actors and actresses . I'm probably done with this site if this is really going to happen .
