Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

WHY??? I always check message boards after every film/TV show I watch! So many theories and a great place to find weird info! I need this place!

IMDb is the only place to discuss old movies. Please don't close the boards.

I have been a member of IMDB for over 10 years, and through the message boards have made some really great friends, whilst talking to others who share the same passions about television shows and movies as I do. Taking this away from everyone, you are then telling fans of the said shows and movies, that they are not important, that connecting over that of a mutual love of something isn't important; and in this day and age of social media, taking away one of the many ways that people choose to connect and forcing them to go somewhere they may not wish to, is a crazy thing.

The IMDb forum is a important and useful place to discuss movies and television. The IMDb forum is the go-to forum for movies and TV the discussion forums and the site will be incomplete without an discussion forum. I realize there are problematic posters, that doesn't seem a reason to rid of the site. This site is greatly appreciated by many, thank you so much for providing a place for me to post for 12 years.

I hope that closing the message boards is reconsidered and is not followed through on. It seems that freedom of speech is not being honored. Shutting it down is like giving up, instead of trying to find an effective solution to deal with the trolls but also allow people who love movies to be able to discuss them with like-minded people.

You've got to be kidding. You're deleting History.

Please reconsider and KEEP the boards active. I go to them after every movies I watch. They're a treasure trove of knowledge, and I LOVE conversing with my fellow film fans. Please RECONSIDER!!

I have enjoyed IMDB through the years...there are those that would abuse it of course.

Maybe another company would be willing to purchase and take over the message boards, and the advertising revenue could go to the new company.

I'm shocked with this decision. I check IMDB dicussion boards of my fav shows regularly, and I feel more engaged with the shows and the movie lover community that way :(

Please please don't take the message boards away. Part of my enjoyment on the internet is going on these boards and discussing favorite movies and shows

I love the message boards. Yes some posters say stupid, ugly things but there a great and interesting conversations that go on. I have no interest in joining Twitter or other sites and enjoy coming here for comments. Please keep the message boards.

It's crazy to think you guys would shut down our only way to actually read and discuss opinions , theories or anything else about these films I've been coming to this site for at least ten years for this and if it's gone I don't think I'll come back simple as that

I understand there are major issues with irresponsible behaviors in the message boards, but they are and always have been my favorite destination to discuss film theories, enjoy jokes, ask questions, posit thoughts, and mostly just read what other people think about all films. Please don't take them away.

I check these forums daily and enjoy a wide variety of shows and movies.

Please show the rest of the internet that this discussion forum isn't all about$$$ like many people are saying.

There must have been some powerful hackers on here.
