The messageboard system is the single greatest usage of imdb.
Please look into perhaps a thrird party messageboard system rther than shutting it down entirely.
Facebook is not capable of the same sort of community as the mesaageboard system is.
Shutting down the message board section of IMDb is the single most stupid thing you could possibly do.

I have been on these boards since the release of Saw back in 2004. Always came to these boards and Houseofjigsaw to discuss and speculate the movies for years after.
I have also used these boards to discuss other movies and television shows and I feel that as one of the longest lasting message boards on the internet, it would be waste and a shame to end things now.

Bear in mind that the most successful sites all have a social aspect. IMDb had the social market cornered when it came to movies -- now there won't be much that makes it unique or that keeps people on the site longer than it takes to quickly browse an actor's filmography. This is a decision that seems mind-blowingly out of touch with what IMDb users value about the site. The Facebook page is not an equivalent or replacement unless you plan to make a Facebook discussion page for every movie ever made. I know nothing we say will make any difference, but this is the equivalent of Facebook deciding it won't allow people to comment on posts anymore. I guess it's possible another site will rise up to fill the gaping need for a comprehensive film forum, though, if IMDb truly isn't interested in getting in on the social media game (because yes, IMDB as it is now is a unique and much-needed form of social media).

This is devastating news. I've been using these boards for over a decade and there is no where else on the internet for niche discussions such as these. Please reconsider.

imdb message boards are the only ones I frequent on the Internet. I genuinely enjoy discussing movies and TV shows with fellow fans and have been an imdb member for over 13 years. I think I read messages on various imdb boards probably everyday. Please don't delete them!

Social media is much too ephemeral to replace message boards

Please keep these boards. They're are staple for people that provide thoughts and discussions on smaller independent and foreign films.
Comments on films on social media sites is a total nightmare. Please don't do this! I'm devastated. This is the only sanctuary on the internet for true films fans.
Low traffic doesn't necessarily mean less interest. Having discussions on films that span over years is part of the beauty of these message boards for small movies.
I can't believe you would say they they're. I longer a positive place when why've provided me with so many positive experiences.
Please, please, please reconsider this.

Ridiculous decision. IMDB is the largest place to find movies and to talk about them. Why would you remove the ability to discuss movies?!

IMDb is my go to stop after having watched a really good movie. No where else can you find such an easy source of discussion and theories shared across the world on each individual movie/actor/tv show. To remove the Messageboards would be doing the internet an injustice. Reddit has me led to believe your excuse is you think people use your social media accounts for info?? Thats Trump worthy misinformation if i ever had heard it. Ive not once felt the need to go to your FB page. Why would you when the app and website is perfectly functional? You probs should really reconsider, you're just shooting your visitor count in the foot...
