Please keep the boards! I read them after every film I watch! There is no replacement or alternative quite like it...

In a time when there's so much anger, hate, and violence going on in this world, we have a place where people from so many countries can unite through a love of movies, and the actors/actresses in those movies. I'm looking at all these signatures, and it truly brings tears to my eyes by all the nations asking for a reprieve so these boards can continue doing what they've done for so many people and for so many years, which is, bring us all together. There's no place on the internet where one can find quickly a particular movie or opinion, and be able to discuss it at will, sometimes even to death. It's a terrible thing to take this away. I look back at my posts like some look back at an old photo album. Thoughts and discussions from ten years ago litter these boards. These are people's memories, people's hearts. And it's all going to be gone, just like that.

I don't know what good this will do, but I'm hoping you will have a change of HEART. The world is an imperfect place with many bigger problems. But the bottom line is, for many (it might seem like a small number to you), there will never be another site that will compare to IMDb's message boards. Despite the ugly that can go on, overall we're a community that finds a lot in pleasure in having discussions with (even LEARNING from) fellow passionate fans of movies, TV, music, etc. Change is a part of life, yes, but this is a terrible decision that has no upside, Please keep this place.

Eliminating the message boards will pretty much also eliminate my reason for using a site that I have been loyally using for over 10 years. If I want to know who is in a movie etc. I just google it- I came to imdb multiple times a day for the message boards - now I'll have no reason to...
