The message-board is the heart of the site and the main (pretty much the only) reason I use it. I look through the discussion boards all the time; after nearly every film I watch. It is the best format available for discussing/reading-discussions about individual movies. I don't care that there are bad posts; all forums have bad posts. There is good content/information available amidst the trash. I do not mind sorting it, and I don't see how it could be any kind of problem for 'you' (faceless corporation) that I have to dig. I truly do not mind; it is worth it. Please do not burn down the boards. Do not kill your website. It is the only well-known, super-accessible place for these kinds of discussions.

I love the message boards, as soon as I'm don't watching my program, I come on the IMDb message board. Anytime I watch a movie, I go to the message boards. I'm on IMDb SEVERAL times a day just to read trivia, and goofs. Please don't get rid of the message boards because of a few issues.

I utilize the message boards for all of the shows I watch. I find it entertaining and the theories and discussions are cool. Sadly, I dont see the backlash for cancelling this as a positive move for imdb. I do NOT utilize social media accounts to discuss television entertainment or discussions. My demographic doesnt participate in snapchat (what?) Instagram (no) and Facebook is for family and friends. Please think about this before disabling and losing a big fanbase for message boarding

The main reason I go to IMDB is for the message boards. I get recommendations from real viewers, and similar minded (tastes in TV) individuals that I can trust for tv and movie recommendations. We can also discuss our passion for a movie or tv show that has caught our attention. Thanks for the message boards I discovered a passion for British mystery/crime shows which is the only thing I watch now. I have no reason to go to IMDB if the board is gone.

This is a real loss. I enjoy so much the humour and insights of other members. Trolls should be ignored, just move on to the next post. Please reconsider this decision.

There really is no other film board like Imdb on the internet. There are plenty of other movie related ones, but they are usually specific (e.g. only about horror, or cult films, or Bollywood) or are much smaller. Imdb has boards for every single film and show, plus many other off-topic ones, making it a very useful resource for the opinions of general audiences. One of the great things about it is that you can find an opinion from anyone on any film, it really is a valuable resource. Clearly there are issues with trolls that are widespread, but eliminating the whole board is an over-the-top reaction. Please don't get rid of the boards, there's really nothing else quite like it. Thank you

I started visiting IMDB nearly 20 years ago merely to look up actors names, but what kept me visiting nearly every day was the message boards. Without them, my 300+ visits a year lasting many hundreds of hours will instead turn into a dozen or so visits lasting minutes. How's that for ad revenue?

Maybe there dont need to be so many of those main boards as most of them are dead, but to get rid of the ones that are active communities (movie awards/film general/sports, etc.) and all the movie and people specific ones is unthinkable!

To be honest IMDB message boards are the first place I go to when I watch a movie or finish a series to get some outside perspective and hear different views and opinions . I know there's lots of trolls but it's all in good fun. Nothing on the internet that doesn't physically harm you should be taken in seriousness. The breaking bad message boards shall live on in my heart forever.

I can't believe you're doing this. I spend much more time on the Message Boards than all other places on the IMDb combined. You're going to lose a lot of readers like myself once the Message Boards go.

I go to the message board after every movie I ever watch, good or bad. It helps me understand things I didn't get, tells me about scenes I could have possibly missed... And hear other people's interesting theories! I can't be without IMDb message board.. My movie life would not be the same!
