Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

Please don't disable the message boards. It is very useful

I always checked the message board after watching a movie/show, it made the whole experience better.

There is nothing like the simplicity, ease of use and informativeness of the IMDB boards.

The most thoroughly dismissive and contemptuous decision on the part of a company I've ever encountered.

The message boards are the best feature of IMBD. They're what set this site apart from other movie and TV sites, and why I visit this site multiple times a day. If negative comments are the problem, do you have a way for users to report them? Your users love the message boards and will do what we can to keep the discussions decent and appropriate. Please rethink this decision!

I've been registered IMDB member 13 years. I often come and check messageboards while watching movies. If that part is removed I might stop going altogether. Most of the time same general information can be find on Wikipedia, so why bother..?

There would be no point to me visiting any more if there's no message boards

Dear Col Nedham, As a regular contributor, as reviewer and poster on the message boards I urge you to reconsider your decision to shut these boards down. They need to be monitored, regulated, not closed down. We have some wonderful people here, many going back well more than a decade, and many of them are responsible for what makes the IMDB great. This is like a slap in the face to them, and it's bad for films, and yes, for Amazon, too, as where else can young people go on the Web,--or in the real world for that matter--and learn about film? Please reconsider! No where else can you find such a wealth of information and like minded people discussing and sharing opinions on everything from the poplar to obscure.

IMDB is my go-to site for reading people's thoughts, questions and comments on new and old movies and tv series. Please don't ruin one of the fundamental aspects of IMDB.

These boards are a huge repository of film analysis and discussion that could have academic value in the future. Deleting them is insane, and disrespectful to the users who compile all of IMDb's data for free.

I've been coming to the message boards since I first discovered IMDB. I still go to read the boards after I watch pretty much anything. I'm incredibly disappointed in this decision and hope they change their minds.

If you have to remove the message boards you should just remove them for actors and actresses (in particular) since they are the main target of the trolls. The message boards for movies and tv shows remain the best place to discuss the shows we love.

Come on now goy- err guys it will be ok. It has to go, free speech is hate speech. oy vey.

Many of us depend on these boards for socializing as well as information. This is a really wrong decision.

I met the love of my life by sharing a mutual love in our lives; cinema. The prospect of depriving others of meeting a potential soul mate is insane. Please preserve the message boards. Cinema discourse needs to be protected.

This is a terrible idea. No reason to come back.
