This is the stupidest decision I have ever seen on the Internet. And, I'm almost positive it will backfire on IMDB severely.

Please consider reversing your decision to halt IMDB's messageboards.

Shutting down the IMDb message boards is an awful idea!! Why? What's the point? We love the message boards. There's no reason to shut them. Why hurt and disappoint so many people this way???? Please keep them open.

Unfortunate choice. I will no longer use IMDB. Frankly, outside of the film discussions, their content is available from plenty of other sites. Rottentamotoes.com being the obvious ratings choice. I was on their site for at least an hour per day, driving traffic across many pages. Now they will get none of my time.

I read and use the message boards on daily basis. Here I can discuss, learn and get new info about movies which is my biggest passion in life. Please do not close them down

Please, don't remove the message boards. The message boards are a big deal to those of us who are actually interested in reading other people's opinions about films, tv series and actors. Removing the message boards will be a terrible mistake. Please, reconsider.

The message board is an integral part of the IMDB experience. It is just as essential as all the compiled data that the site posseses and is important for IMDB community discussions. Although there is a bit of nonsense present in the forum from knuckle-draggers, it's a place where vital information is traded and most of it is advantageous. Most users would agree that the site would lose a copious amount of users and site traffic, if the message boards are indeed, discontinued. Therefore, by this signature, I implore the good people at IMDB to listen to its users and keep the message boards.

IMDB doesn't appear to understand just what makes it tick. It's forums is part of the health of the organization. Please do not shut it down. It's a way to interact with fans, get updates and play with the Trolls.

Main reason to visit imdb is to use the boards facility to discuss music and movies. This is very enjoyable and have made many contacts and friends across the pond over the years. This has quite made me sad hearing of this demise. please re-think.

IMDB messageboards are the only source of information I can get about movies and everything that has to do with them. I've been a member since 2010.

Please don't get rid - I think people use the boards more than you think. While I don't often write on them, whenever I watch a film I anyways go straight to the boards to see what others have thought or to look for an explanation on a confusing plot. I really don't want to use Twitter or Facebook or Instagram- the beauty of imdb is I can be an anonymous film geek and listen to others the same

the only reason i joined IMDB was because of the boards. without messageboards, IMDB won't be the same.

I'll no longer visit the site without message boards as well. That's absolutely absurd to rid them.

The decision to shut down the message boards is the lamest ever. Did too many cry babies complain. If you follow through with this terrible decision your fine site will get a whole lot fewer hits, and as such I think you will have a harder time attracting advertising. You may not care about the common folk who visit your site, but how will you explain this to your shareholders?

Stop this stupid idea! I know that imdb just wants to cut the costs of the infrastructure but it's utterly wrong to close the main source of information exchange.

I've got no reason to come to imdb anymore, the message boards were the heart and soul of the site. Now it will be just a list of movies and actors. Boring

One of the few places I actually learned useful info--I would immediately check-out 1st the official info and then the message boards to learn the human to human info. It was fascinating to read what the actors are really like, if they are alive and healthy, if they struggled, and how they were appreciated for their gifts. I'll miss this terribly and fear that IMDB will close as well. Why must we lose everything that is person to person?
