Man. What is the point of imdb without the message board?
Where will we go?
Please. Let it go on forever.

Whenever I watch a movie (old or new) I always turn to the IMDb message boards to see other people's perspectives and thoughts upon it. You can't always do this in real life as people you know don't necessarily have the same tastes/ watch the same things so it is wonderful to be able to access such a large online community all discussing the same show.

Boards for the less known/older movies are a gold mine. Please do not shut down.

Why get rid of it, as the statement said, not many people still use it, but many still do, even way before Facebook came about, I don't understand why there can't be both the message boards And the ones on Facebook ? Message boards needs to stay

I've been a frequent IMDb user for the past 9 years and the only place I come to express my interest in movies and TV shows. If the message boards are gone I'll lose an outlet to express my interest and I would miss it greatly.

The message boards ARE IMDB. Shutting them down is ludicrous.

Only reason to even use your site is to get real reviews and not just paid critics. No need for you at all after 2/20.

Without the boards, IMDB is just like any other site... Which means I could just go to any other site for my movie news.

No more message boards, no way to clarify any misunderstandings or "wait, what?" for the movie.

Please reconsider. The natural way to handle this is to introduce community based moderation. Keep the movies / TV / Industry boards open, remove the "General" boards, and introduce community moderation. Easy solution with only winners.

I am an avid user of these boards, I enjoy having intelligent and insightful conversations with those who love the same movies and television shows as I. I think this is a huge mistake, and honestly don't think I'll be using IMDB after this, as I think this a highly unfair thing to do to those of us who use these boards to connect and coverse in an intelligent and friendly way. It feels as if we're being punished for the deeds of so called internet "Trolls". Frankly, I think this is a very unsmart thing to do, as I know many people, myself included, who only come to your site for the message boards. I have no doubt you'll end up losing many IMDB members because of this. I humbly implore you to reconsider this. I love these boards and know many people that do also. Please keep these boards going. Thank you for your time.

Yes there is a lot of ignorance spouted on these message boards yet it still speaks to my informed choice to ignore those posts & review those I feel are more credible.
