One of the few reasons to tolerate the ads on imdb we need the boards.

I have enjoyed IMDB's message boards for years and would be sad to see them go. They are a great resource to discuss movies and shows. Please do not discontinue them!

This was a very short-sighted decision, please reverse it before the damage is done. I use imdb boards every day, they are my main reason for using the site. I can get things I didn't understand explained, find new insights, see things in different perspectives - this is invaluable to me. There is nowhere else like it.

As a retired film costumer and makeup artist, I love having the message boards to connect with old crew members from time to time. I also like having an easily accessible way to understand things about some shows or movies that aren't always obvious. Sure, there are trolls. but in just the first thread on the IMDB FaceBook page I just checked out, there was already contentiousness...it kind of goes with the territory these days, and is everywhere. NOT having the message boards I feel would be a mistake. I really enjoy them.

I spend so much time on your boards talking to other fans. As soon as I get back from a movie, I go right to its IMDb Board. Please don't shut them down!

The boards are...perhaps, the greatest source of movie data, reviews and cinematic insight available to "movie people". To remove them would defeat the purpose of frequenting IMDB.

Leave the Message Boards open or prepare to lose a LARGE number of legitimate members.
Facebook, Shmacebook. All the accounts you mentioned have none of the traffic like this site. Someone is making a grave error...be advised.

i always go to the message board of each films i just watched to see what other people make out of their viewings, also when i'm about to see a particular film or just looking for recommendations by the messageboard users based on the film i just watched.

The messageboards are the life and soul of IMDb I believe. It's the only place where you can find almost any movie and find interesting discussions about them.

Just now, I found out that the IMDB message boards will no longer exist, which I feel greatly disappointed about. While Facebook may have its benefits for IMDB users, I don't see how this may be so much better than the existing boards.
