I have always enjoyed reading the discussions on IMDB. Most comments were very well thought and it was nice to talk to people about the movies we all love. Shutting down the message boards is a huge mistake and I hope this can help save this legendary staple in cyberspace.

Don't close the boards, it is the best source for discussions on smaller movies. I regularly visit the board just to help me understanding some confusing endings or just want to see how other reacts to it.

The IMDB boards are an invaluable source of information about the less popular shows. IMDB loses a lot of value without them.

I've posted on these message boards for over 10 years. Great place to discuss movies and have movie questions answered. Positives far outweigh the negatives. People should understand that it is free will to post on these boards, and as with life, if you don't want to hear negative talk don't listen. I will not return to IMDb if the message boards if they are taken down. I will also delete the phone app and get my movie news elsewhere.

To me the message boards are the only reason I go to imdb. I enjoy to discuss the movies and TV shows and there is no other place on the internet that offers the change to talk to people about every single TV show or movie out there in such a well structured way.

Yea we need this because rotten tomatoes is just a mainstream echochamber of so called critics who don't know how to frame the movie they viewed in anything other than a personal political agenda

I don't post on the message boards, but I read them almost every time I look up a new program. That's where you find the "extra" information about a show. Removing the message boards will really take away greatly from the overall functionality of IMDb.

I hope this unfortunate decision can be reconsidered. I use IMDB for most every TV show and movie I watch or am considering to watch. Finding a new research site as good as IMDB will be difficult.
