I can spend over 1 hour+ reading the message boards for movies I have questions about. Without the boards, there is zero reason for me to ever go on the IMDB page again.

I'm from Hong Kong. Local discussion forums lack quality movie lovers who discuss movies from different perspectives in depth rationally. At IMDb, movie lovers from different countries can talk about movies in English and the quality discussions often give me insights into the movies I have watched. Kindly think about how your decision will affect movie fanatics.

Please keep the message boards! They enhance the IMDB beyond all measure!! The message boards are an invaluable source of information, for example, where clarification about aspects of a movie can be sought as well as comparing opinions. As other petitioners have noted, the message boards are the point of difference from Wikipedia.

Why are a few bad apples allowed to spoil the bushel? I've enjoyed reading the boards more than I've had to ignore trolls. Please reconsider.

I've been reading the message boards since at least 2002. Nothing on the internet compares, to say facebook can take it's place is ludicrous. Have the courage to say why this is really happening! What a terrible waste to shut this down. Please reconsider this decision!!

I truly believe that the boards are a huge part of the website. They have helped me numerous times understand a movie or just read interesting theories.

It's very simple. This is abolition of the freedom of speech. First Trump, and now this?? How can they do this after almost 2 decades?? Watching a movie or a TV show and going to the most popular movie site to share your opinion with other people across the world is the essence of what Internet is about. And they're taking it away?? Now, in 2017??
We live in dark ages people. It's not just about talking about movies, something darker is behind this. What's next, taking down date sites??
First You Tube with its stupid policies, and now IMDB. It's always against us, the simple random people who just want some freedom of speech.

The message boards are an integral part of IMDB. I use the feature a lot when researching what people think about a movie/TV show.

Please save the boards, I have been using them everyday for nearly 13 years, they are a fantastic way to discuss movies, actors etc. Please don't let them go.

It is fun to bounce theories back and forth and the boards also help to get new insight. We can block the trolls ourselves.

I'm not an active member, but I lurk on the boards everyday. Please do not get rid of the message boards. You must not realize how vital they are to so many people.
