I have used these message board for over a decade now and I've been posting for over half of that time. Being able to discuss my favorite films and television shows with different people all over the world has been a tremendous, innovative medium I've obviously been taking for granted. Don't let the trolls win.

I have been imdb`s member for 15 years, and constantly visit the site, particularly the message boards. This makes me stay longer on the site, or else I would just visit Wiki or Rotton Tomatoes. I enjoy the discussion os the boards and it connects me with other movie fans around the world. Interaction with the users is an important element for a website to suceed. It makes members visit again and again. And how are we supposed to open a thread to discuss an actor or an old movie in the fb page?

I'm fully begging you, don't abolish the message boards system for the account. If you did that, I'm gonna feel like I just lost one of my family members.
Don't let the trolls and haters win, you guys should tighten your system and restrictions by moderators instead of sweeping everyone away. It's the biggest family I've ever had.
Without IMDb, my life would be...quiet. I don't have any friends that have the same interest as me in watching movies except for one or two so that board always enlightens my days, Message board is the heart and rating is the soul of IMDb. Without it, I'm afraid you'll lose many fan base.

I think the decision to close the boards without asking for any input from users, is short-sighted and a bad move. Having joined in 2003, I come to IMDb every day and actually met some of good friends through the boards. It provides a quick and easy way to find out information about actors or movies that won't be as accessible from social media. I urge IMDb to reconsider their decision and hope the boards stay alive. If not, I imagine I won't come to IMDb even a fraction of the amount I do now.

IMDB message boards have different levels of discussion as opposed to other social media platform which is mainly about shipping. The boards should stay.

I check the boards before/after watching a movie. Before to know if a movie is worth and after to check what other people thought about the movie and even to understand some things i might have not understood

I've been a user on imdb.com for 10 years!!!! Please do not remove the message boards. Honestly, more than you realize, people who continually use your site the most are the ones who enjoy posting on the message boards. To remove that, would remove a lot of the websites appeal.
The site would merely just be used to see ratings and or actors.
If you take away the message boards, you'll take away the entire imdb community.

I think it would make more sense to update the message boards, rather than outright disable them. In all honesty the message boards are the main reason for users to use the site on a regular basis. Losing the boards will hurt your user membership more than it will help it.
