Can't believe they're shutting this down! The message boards are the main reason I come to imdb. Without them, they'll lose me as a visitor for sure.

You can't do it. We need to talk about movies. We need more information about movies. We need a questions/answers. We need to help the others. We always have fun reading on IMDb board messages. You can't do it because it's like you will gonna to cancell Freaks and Geeks. Just no! #SaveIMDbMessageBoards

I have been a member of IMDb for 17 years and used the site even before that.
The "small and passionate community" that use the message board, are the same people who submit the data to IMDb.
Without us, IMDb will become out-of-date and worthless.
Many times users who do not understand the process to submit changes to IMDb post in the message board so that those of us who DO understand can submit the changes for them. So by removing the message board, you are killing the site.
I understand removing the general boards, but you must keep the boards related to each actor, movie, TV show, as they are vital to the functioning of the site.

Really don't do this. I will be terribly disappointed and will no longer have a directed goal of reading the web site..............That is exactly why people always check it out and in doing so check the pulse of other movie goers.......

Still quite popular. Require very little resources. Facebook and Twitter is NOT structured into different movies and actors.

I have used the ID message boards for so many years, it hurts me deeply to know they will soon be gone. I know there are other places to discuss movies, but I won't use them. It may seem silly to those who don't understand, but these message boards are an escape for me. The a.ount of negativity on them is disturbing, but how can we let these a-holes kill our message boards? It's like giving in to the demands of terrorists. We can not let this happen!!
