Do not shut the boards down. After the basic information profiles, the boards are the best thing about IMDb. To remove them would weaken your site. Best, Joe

The message boards are the reason I visit the site 95% of the time. It's not only for movies, but a place to discuss the TV shows that I watch every week.

Please reconsider the shut down. My main reason to visit IMDB is to share with fellow movie buffs

I beg you not to remove one of the most interesting and informative message boards on the internet. I am addicted and alway learn something new. You are throwing away the thoughts, ideas and opinions of thousands and thousands of movie watchers. I beg you.

IMDb DOES provide an incredibly positive and useful experience. There is nothing else like it. The comments often hold a treasure trove of insightful information. Trolls, angry people, hateful people can easily be ignored or skipped over, they don't mar the wonderful conversations and interpretations of film that abound on IMDb. Please don't scrap this valuable, historical resource that so many have used and loved for so long. I'm sure most of us would be happy with just the movie boards to discuss films and film making. Jeff, I sure hope you hear us.

IMDB is a museum not a business. Stop running a museum like a business.

For years, the IMDb forums have been my first destination after watching a movie or TV show. I didn't actively comment, but I enjoyed knowing other people's interpretations, theories, likes and suggestions. Now I'll just find somewhere else to go (probably Reddit). But, mostly, considering how much IMDb owes to contributors, I think it's a completely disrespectful and ungrateful move. I hope they get what they deserve. I will definitely vote with my mouse clicks.

Please don't shut the boards down! It's the best, most educational part of IMDb.

I have no use for IMDB if there's no forum for discussion. Rotten Tomatoes give more accurate ratings anyhow.

The IMDb message boards and private messages SHOULDN'T be disabled over something that could most likely be fixed. What good is a movie site dedicated to movie lovers if they can't discuss movies and communicate with one another? This may be a feeble attempt at changing IMDb's mind. But they'd be foolish to abandon their devoted users by getting rid of something that has allowed people to come together and share their opinions about movies.
