Please, DO NOT delete the IMDb message boards. Despite the occasional presence of trolls, these message boards are extremely valuable to film fans everywhere.

For a good many years, I've come to find the boards a very informative and diverting source, covering such a wide variety of productions from the most well known to just about the most obscure. I've very much appreciated that the posters approach the content being discussed, from a wide variety of angles, production issues, character studies, musings on alternative renderings, to say nothing of the profiles on the talent, in front of and behind the cameras. I will very much miss this freewheeling and vital resource, that could always be counted on to pull someone in to observe another point of view or another aspect, not even previously considered. It is indeed, a sad and meaningful loss to contemplate.

The message boards are the only really interesting part of IMDb. Imdb will have a massive drop in the traffic without them and will eventually spell out its own demise. Don't do this

I won't sign in with Facebook even though I have a page. I don't twit. What a shame--this is not forcing me INTO those sites, which really HAS ti be the motive--just nullifying the main element of interest for me in IMDB.

The only reason I used IMDB. For obscure films there message boards were a treasure trove of insight and information. It's a travesty that all this valuable discussion will be lost, and I don't believe for a second that this shutdown is happening because of trolling, which would affect only a small proportion of popular films. Very angry

If the message boards go down...i won't have a single reason to log into to imdb daily. I don't see myself logging on ever again without the message boards. Seriously Facebook instead of the message board?
