The message boards are literally the only motivation for coming to the site and having the app. It's a truly unique experience and service offered by nobody but IMDb. Where else can I have these types of discussion online? Certainly not your social media accounts.

I don't use my social media the same way I use the message boards. I will really miss the boards if they do shut down. ☹️

I read the IMDb forums every time I watch a movie. There is no other place on the web with a separate board for every movie ever made and one for each person who ever worked in the film industry. Please don't take this valuable resource away.

I have been a member of IMDB for over ten years now, and one of the things I like most about this site is the message boards. I've learned a lot, made friends and had fn.. Please reconsider this decision!

The IMDB Message boards are as important to the site as the cast listing or plot synopsis. without them nothing sets them apart from a Wikipedia or Moviedb page. It's where movie nerds gather to talk for years about one or multiple specific movie's and where others go to find out opinions on whether a movie (old & new) is worth seeing at all. good luck finding a Reddit or Facebook page full of people talking about every movie made.

Please do not close out the comments pages. I consult the comments practically on a daily basis in order to find out others' opinions on movies and tv shows. I find most of the discussions are useful and respectful. If you are shutting it down because of the cost of maintaining it please be honest about it. There are a lot of us users and fans of IMDb who rely on the comments. Thank you

It's probably lost cause, but these boards are one of the best resources for discussing film. The trolls may overrun the nre release boards. I was mostly a lurker for over a decade, but I now have no reason to visit IMDB in the future. Social media does not have a place in these centralized discussions. IMDB is even trying to pitch its social media coffers in the announcement. Unlike them immediately

Not everyone wants to chat through FB, twitter, etc. This is our online community and there isn't another one like it for movies/t.v. Trolls should be eliminated, not the other 90% of the fanbase here. Many of us will not have much use for IMDB without the message boards. Have you considered how many users you will be losing?

Aside from the message boards, I don't find much else useful on imdb. Once they're gone, I won't have much use for the site and plan on uninstalling the app. Very sad to see this go. Please reconsider!
