Like many, the main reason I visit IMDB is to read about movies & TV shows on the message boards....being able to quickly find topics about a certain movie or actor, etc. is very useful....and I'm not sure there's an adequate substitute available.

IMDB - don't kill your business model. Message boards are full of interesting discussions that promote the industry. Great thing is, people who don't like any dissent in their lives don't even have to look at the message boards AT ALL. But it's a valuable resource for movie lovers, producers, and directors alike. I've learned things about movies I never would have without discussion. Don't kill IMDB with this move.

IMDb is the best place to discuss movies and television. The message boards are pretty much the only reason I use the site. So sad to see it go.

The message boards are one of the most valuable parts of IMDB. my technology challenged parents are constantly calling me to use IMBD to settle arguments about old movies and often I only find the answers through the discussions on the message boards. I ignore the mean spirited troll like posts to find info I value. Please reconsider getting rid of such a valuable resource.

Huge mistake getting rid of the message boards.
It's the one thing I always enjoyed to do after a movie or series's.. I will no longer have any use for IMDb...

Please keep the IMDb message boards. Sure there are trolls but the MAJORITY of posters are interesting, polite, and engaging film and tv buffs.

Huge mistake, doing away with the message boards; the reason I visit IMDb is to discuss various films with other knowledgeable movie buffs. There is a forum for practically every movie ever made. If a troll tries to derail a thread, I add it to my ignore list. Seriously have some respect for your longtime users, instead of treating us like children

Once the Board is closed down, 20-odd years of user contributions will be LOST FOREVER - they are NOT ARCHIVED anywhere! I have no reason to come to IMDb without the message boards. Have fun with the drastically decreased traffic.
