The message board is the main reason I go to imdb.com, and I check it pretty much after every movie and TV show I watch for good discussion that can't be found elsewhere Please leave it!

As said before: IMDB's message boards are the only places to discuss specific films. especially non-contemporary ones. It helps to understand parts of the film and to notice things you missed and so much more, Don't close the message boards please.

I love reading the message boards after every movie I watch. It's a great way to get one on one conversation on a particular movie. I never go to the social media accounts to ask a question regarding a movie I've seen. Please reconsider the decision to close down the boards!

I see a movie, and I go right to that movie's message board to discuss. I am watching a tv show and something big happens, I go right to the message board to see what others think about it. The movie awards section is enormously popular. This is a very bad decision by IMDB/Amazon. And, uh, facebook and twitter are only good for advertising. There is no meaningful discussion there.

It's the only place, where for every actor, for every film and for every show, there is a message board. There is nothing like it on social media.

The messageboards have been what made me visit this site several times a day during the past year. I don't see myself coming here often once they are gone, and I am sure many people feel the same, including those who are not registered or active posters themselves.

If there is no message boards, I have no more use for IMDB.
You wanna see lost advertising money, just wait and see how many fewer people even bother to come round any more.
Many thousands of people will stop visiting the site.
The ratings algorithm is poor, the specs are no better than Wikipedia.
The message boards were EVERYTHING.

Even if you remove admin-control on these boards, keep it open! Millions of people use this to discuss films. It's the only one-stop place for film discussion.

Keep the IMDB message boards open. It has proven to be a very useful resource when attempting to understand movies and TV on a deeper level. I visit the message boards during or after everything I watch. The additional information gained greatly increases my appreciation for what I've seen.
