I can't see why they wanna eliminate the message boards.
You can't start topics on Facebook or twitter.
All they have to do is eliminate the trolls and bad messages.

The forum is the best part to actually hear what people think, details I might have missed, and general opinions on what's good or bad about movies. It would be a serious downgrade if you got rid of it. Please don't.

Even if the number of people who POST on the message boards is a small fraction of the total users, I can bet a large portion of the users READ things posted on the message board.
This is especially likely to be true of recurring users and users who spend a lot of time on the site.
By closing the message boards, those users are going to go away - not good for IMDb

The main reason I visit IMDb everyday is to use the message boards to chat with online friends. My visits to IMDb will be infrequent without the boards.

Filter out the trolls and spam. I barely notice it to be honest. I know how to avoid it I guess. I always find great theories and discussions anytime I visit the message boards for a specific film.

I like reading the boards of more old/obscure movies and Tv shows - there's no where else to discuss these types of movies

please don't rid of the message boards! not a day goes by that i'm not checking them for other people's perspectives on film! IMDB has always been my go-to for that reason; there's many things going wrong this year as it is - don't make this be one of them.

IMDB message boards are the only way to have meaningful hindsight about movies you've just watch. Shutting them down is the worst decision you could take.

I hope imdb will reconsider this moronic decision and stay true to its name by keeping to provide movie buffs, cinema conosseurs and TV show junkies a venue for interaction.

Please, don't close the message boards. They provide such a good service in order to fully understand movies. The trivia and review sections are fine, but it is the boards that make this website stand out. Without the boards there's no much point on checking your website anymore, sorry.
