Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

The ONLY reason I visit IMDb is for the message boards. I don't go to other sites. I go to IMDb. If the message boards go, so do I. If I don't understand something that happened in a film or a show, I can have help through the boards. I like being able to read thoughts about plots and why certain things happened. Now I will be out of luck. Save the boards,

OK, I've been on IMDb for 5 years, and the Boards are where I've spent most of my time on. In fact, they are the only reason I stay on this site for 5 years. They provide some pretty interesting insights into the films, and they help me a lot to understand some plot points. I haven't posted anything yet, but I love to hear others' opinions. Surely there are trolls and extremists that have tainted the feature's reputation, but they are only the minority. If you need someone to moderate the contents, I and many people here will gladly volunteer to do that.

Message boards are my fav feature and if they cancel it i will use FILMCRAVE instead of IMDB

I love the IMDb message boards. I read through them all the time! I rarely watch a film or TV show anymore without checking out the boards immediately afterwards. I know there are racist dickheads out there ruining it, but shouldn't we try to eliminate them, rather than obliterate an entire community? Please reconsider and keep the boards!!

This is a baffling decision. Please reconsider. The main reason I visit IMDb is to find out more about shows and movies. Reading opinions and interpretations of plotlines provides the primary benefit of the site. Most websites want visitors to spend more time on their site. You've just guaranteed users will spend a lot less time on yours. Bizarre decision.

There's no reason for me to visit IMDB without the message boards.

It's a big mistake and it's gonna alienate people.

If the discussion boards go, so does IMDB revenue, as I can guarantee that most users of the site will be going much less frequently. It is the ONE place on the Internet to have good discussions about films. If trolls are the problem, then hire a few admins like the site used to have and permaban the damn trolls - don't remove the forums - the IMDB is just shooting itself in the foot if it does so. I know my visits will go from frequent to rare, and that is the same for millions of users.
