Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

Deliberately destroying an on-line community is cultural and social vandalism, same as doing it to a real-world community.

With already insufficiently utilized potential of social networking within IMDB, the removal of message boards is a direct hit aimed at those it should treasure the most - real movie lovers.

This is a big blow to the community that helped make imdb what it is today.

Keep the message boards up. They are informing to a lot of people and I have people I know that use them. People will always say something that one doesn't agree with but shutting down a message board that informs many people is crazy. Please keep the message board up.

IMDB message boards are a great resource for news. Please keep it alive.

Please don't take this away from us.

Stop. Y would u close message boards......stupid. who ever decided this needs to be demoted

I use the boards, among other things, to get a more nuanced feel about the movie or tv show that I'm considering watching. After the boards are removed, I'll look for another ratings site that still has them, and probably migrate off imdb entirely.

I'm not a registered IMDb member, but I peruse the message boards all the time. They are an invaluable and distinguishing feature of IMDb.

Please amazon/imdb, don't close the IMDB message boards! There is no other resource like it anywhere for the discussion of films!

The only reason I spent as much time as I did on IMDB. Now I will only go to check upcoming movies once a month.

I dont post much, but do follow a lot of the boards. I hope they decide against it.

Please keep the message boards open. Then are fuel for human expression relating to film appreciation. Thank you.

The IMDB message boards are very useful to have discussion about specific scenes or endings. Especially for older movies for which you will not find people talking about it anywhere else on the web.

Hi, please we need the boards to discuss and share thoughts. It is also a great way to make new friends that love the same shows. Please do not cancel the boards.

Don't let a few bad apples ruin something truly special for the rest of us. Please keep the messageboards alive!
