The messageboards are, imho, a substantial and essential part of the whole Imdb community. Please don't remove this valuable feature from your website.

The boards need some type of moderation, but there is still a wealth of information that can not be shared without the boards. Without the boards, there are countless titles which I would never have heard of, and could never have searched for, watched, and discussed afterward. Shutting down the message boards is a cowardly thing to do.

I'm really disappointed about this. Almost every time I watch a film I find myself checking its message board for one fact or another though I have never actually posted on there. I'm sure there are many others in the same position.
Their removal makes no sense, trolls are easy to ignore, but what you are doing will destroy a valuable resource for film fans which is what makes IMDB so good in the first place.

I really hope you accept this petition and that this an error. I came to this site by accident loving films is how I found it. Through it finding the most interesting things about film and meeting the most interesting people in the world. I met my wife on imdb. I dont care about Facebook or Twitter. This is my favorite site ever! With trolls included. Like many I check on it daily. You can check my account upon it. I worship this site. Are you willing to lose that type of die heart devotion?

Disabling the boards must be the stupidest idea in imdb history. Why would you? People are much better behaved than any other medium. I will boycott imdb if they take down the boards, i urge others to do the same.
