The message boards are the most valuable part of the imdb experience to me. This is a huge mistake.

IMDb is one of the best places on the net. Please reconsider this decision to shut down the boards. DO NOT let the trolls win!!

I just seen the moronic closing down message on imdb after checking the boards to get the feel of lord of the rings comments from users. What prize tit executive made the decision to kill the boards. Outrageous!!!!! Reverse this decision now!!!

I just started contributing to IMDb about a year ago but have enjoyed reading the comments for a longer period&like Robert Osborne on TCM often find background information adds to the enjoyment of the film or show! As to the negativity, like on Twitter, you consider the source and value it accordingly! While on Twitter you have block option for the truly outrageous, here you can simply skip over it and move on to the next! With people in Washington currently taking their cues from Moscow in trying to "shut up"what they disagree with in contrast to our Constitutional rights that they're SUPPOSED TO BE UPHOLDING and that millions have died to protect, PLEASE continue to allow this small refuge of freedom!

This is bs!! One of the main reasons people go to this site IS to talk about our shows! Imdb admin must be getting too lazy to monitor, etc. Keep the message boards!

Without the ability to discuss shows/films IMDB will lose 90% of it's appeal.

I won't have a need for your website if you discontinue the message boards.

The message board is one of the only reasons I even visit IMDb tbh. If they get rid of the best part what's the point of even going there?

Granted the boards has seen more toxicity the last years, but the better discussions do make you get back more often. It's up to you ofcourse. It will be your loss in hits/views.

I love the boards. Posted on lots over the last 10+ years. I get recommendations and obscure facts answered. I really don't see myself utilizing IMDb that much if at all if you disable the boards.

Dear Col: I have been a loyal IMDb user for many, many years. I love the website .. It is possibly my favourite site in the world. But ... the Message Boards are possibly the most fascinating part of the site. In almost every visit to IMDb, I read some Reviews, look at some Trivia about a film I've just seen ... And I gaze through the Message Boards to see if people are chatting about what interests me about the movie. If I come across trolls or rude behaviour, I ignore it. Most people on there are just like me .. Passionate fans of the movies. Please don't close what may well be the world's best Message Board. IMDb is a far lesser website, without it.

I was truly saddened to see the message that the message boards are going away. It is my routine to read others' opinions on the boards whenever I watch a new movie. It has greatly added to my enjoyment to read the opinions and analyses from others. It would not be the same on social media, and taking away the message boards would leave a huge void.
