Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

Please don't remove the message boards, the trolls might be bad, but the positive far far outweighs the negative. There's nowhere else to have the specific, minute discussions on forgotten films than these boards. Please reconsider, this will be a huge loss and render IMDB irrelevant.

I've been on IMDb for 12 years... now i can't watch any other Memento-like movie, because i won't have the iMDB forum to check for answers and opinions.

Please keep the IMDB message boards alive. The great thing about the message boards on IMDB is you can talk about any movie, TV show or actor. You can go to the Breaking Bad page and talk to Breaking Bad fans about the show. You can go to the Avengers IMDB page and talk about the Avengers. And you can go to Scarlett Johansson's IMDB page and talk about Scarlett Johansson with other fans of her. I visit IMDB daily. And the reason why I visit daily is because of the message boards. So Please keep the IMDB message boards alive. Thank you.

The only reason I go to IMDB is for the message boards. I like reading other people's opinions about a movie or TV show I just watched. Or I may post a comment or question. Your social media is lacking. If I wanted just general information about a movie or TV show without the message boards, I can go on Wikipedia. I hope you change your minds.

The message boards are the main reason I use IMDb at all. Please reconsider closing them.

The best thing about imdb

Come on IMDB, please don't close the message boards. Every time I finish watching a film I go to the message boards to see other's interpretations for the movie or different kinds of theories about the movie's plot. There are also a lot of really good movie recommendations given by the users. We don't want to lose years and years of interesting conversations about all the films we love. Please IMDB, keep the message boards going!

Please don't close the IMDb boards

The IMDb boards are unique in that there is a personal message board for even the smallest and most obscure movie. A place to discuss something that there is nowhere else to. It would be a huge shame to get rid of the boards.

You're calling yourself Internet Movie Database, yet you're going to delete the most interesting part of said database. Ironic much?

I have been on the IMDb message boards since the beginning. I have always enjoyed looking into other people opinions and thoughts on various movies. Yes there are annoying people that ruin decent conversations, but that is anyware you go on the internet. By closing down the fourms IMDB is loosing traffic and interest in their site and also removing the communities that have kept the site alive. When the fourms are removed, I will not be going to IMDB anymore. Please do not remove the fourms!!!

Bad decision! Where am I suppossed to go if I want to ask question about a scene in a 23 year old movie. This will hurt your traffic, you'll see.

I suggest that, at least, the current content of the message boards be preserved. They are an invaluable reference point. I mostly use the message boards for older movies. The posters are uniformly literate, informed, insightful. They provide illuminating and interesting commentary about the films I look up and I often find my specific questions answered or discussed in depth. I rely on these message boards.

Please do not cancel these message boards.

Please don't close the message boards. A lot of us just love our shows and movies and enjoy discusssing them with fellow fans!

I am a contributor and I have been on IMDb for a few years. The message boards are crucial to what makes IMDb so popular.

On the messageboards I can find answers to questions I had after watching a movie or show. It's very helpful!
