Why ruin a good thing? Come up with way to deal with trolls like if get so many unique ratings comment invisible. Users can elevt see top rated comments or see all, inclduing invisible. Maybe is someone get sooooo many downvotes on various posts then they can't comment for so many months, auto-ban and auto-un-ban. If keep repeat permanent ban. Come on YouTube did it successfully .

IMDb has been gutted by the decision to do away with the message boards...it was THE place to go if one had a question about a particular movie, or simply to get another person's "take" on a movie. There's nothing else like it on the internet. I used to spend quite a bit of time in IMDb (most often reading topics in the message boards), not nearly so much now (and I'll bet I'm not alone). Bring back the message boards!

Huge loss. Bring the messageboards back! IMDb is now a shadow of its former self. Hope traffic drops off and they realize their mistake.

I loved the message board, i love interacting with other users about movies without having to express a critic of a movie as of im an expert. Also sometimes you want to just ask a question about the movie to see how others interpreted it and now we cant do that anymore. If the boards where offensive then their should be another system developed like flagging commens and banning accounts, theres no need to censor all the platform for those who can behave.

In addition to nixing the message boards, it looks like -this week- IMDB greatly reduced the functionality of the User Comments as well. They don't pop up on the movie title pages anymore, and when you click on them, it doesn't allow you to go in any order besides usefulness.

It seems quite evident, now going on 3/4 of a year since IMDb unceremoniously dumped the message boards feature, that (besides this petition didn't work) they're not seeking to in any way appease our community that they left high and dry. Everyone try The Movie Database (TMDb). It's an excellent (and troll-free) site. TMDb has message boards for every movie, series, documentary, cartoon, actor, director, etc., etc. So you can post there like how you always did on IMDb after (or before) watching a movie, show, etc. Meanwhile, it's so regrettable that IMDb didn't want us - their loyal longtime message boards community - anymore.....

I don't want to hear what my friends thought about a film; my friends and I generally don't share the same taste in movies. I go to the boards to find like-minded opinions, or opposing ones. I want to communicate about movies with people in general, not those I already talk to regularly. It was a huge reason for my ever visiting the website to begin with. Trolls can be controlled; please don't remove the boards.

Please bring back the IMDb message boards!!! I miss them all the time. I keep going to pages on IMDb and then scrolling down in the hopes that the boards have returned, and then resenting the website for removing them in the first place :(
