Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

The boards are one of the best places to discuss movies, I (and many other people) will move to a site that offers this functionality.

There is NO other place on the internet like the IMDB message boards. NO other website is as active for older or more obscure movies. Getting rid of the message boards is getting rid of one of the most unique things about the Internet Movie Database.

The trivia section and message boards are the two primary reasons I frequent IMDB so much. To eliminate the boards is a foolish move that will result in me spending far less time on IMDB and far more time on other sites.

This is the first message board I ever signed up too, and I still love using it for my favorite movies. PLEASE DON'T SHUT THIS DOWN!!!!!!!

Please this allows me the ability to talk about rare and cult shows/movies that the Internet often ignores.

The message boards are treasure troves of further information (it would be a waste to lose it) on films that are not covered elsewhere on the site and conversations are interesting. I would probably stop visiting the site if the message boards with all of their information are erased.

I've been an IMDB user since the site was in its beginning - utilizing it for many reasons that were not readily available on the internet when it began. As time went on and www began REALLY compartmentalizing I began to come here primarily for the boards. Even MORE so with tablets & Phones being a source of input. Its not my intention to dictate how you run your site or threaten you you with my departure as you don't need me, but w/o the boards I literally have no reason to be here and , I assure you, here is where I want to be .

The IMDB message boards have been a huge source for myself and others in terms of finding new films to watch and helping others find them. This function, along with reviews (which will likely not be as frequent with less site visitors with a message boards deletion) are tremendously important backbones to the IMDB experience. The site is much more than just the front page and a catalog of filmmakers and actors.

Keep the IMDB Boards alive!

Please keep these boards open. Try having Mods in there to keep the trolls out. This is an amazing consortium of movie discussion and is critical to the industry of watching and discussion. We should boycott Amazon then. If this is because of a few isolated harassments on certain pages then LOC the discussions! This is redic! Amazon !

I use IMDB for other things (movie listings, answering "Where do I know that actor from?"). most of my time on IMDB is spent on the message boards. Because there's no better place to discuss this or that plot twist, or find out what that scene meant, or reminisce about your favorite quotes with other people who care.

It's the only reason I visit IMDB

The message boards are 70% why I go on this site. I want to know what other people are talking about, I want answers to questions. The "trolls" don't bother me. I'm very upset about this being taken away.

Really love the IMDB boards - please don't deactivate! If people are so thin skinned with the comments they should just choose not to read! Don't ruin it for the rest of us!

Getting rid of the imdb message boards is a massive mistake. I can get movie info several places but not in depth interactive fan discussion. When the boards go I will have no reason to visit the site and will also make it a point not to.

not every movie/show has a subredit.and imo messageboards are way better than some 1sided imdb review that noone can comment on.imdb will be history without discusions of the movies

I have been on IMDb 4ever. I look for ratings, movies that people where in etc. are u crazy ??.? U show me where we can get the same info on whatever social media u refer to. I LOVE the discisiion boards !!

I like to read the message boards. Discussion is the cornerstone of community.
