Everytime I watch or hear of a film I go straight to these boards. I am going to be lost without them

These Msg Boards are apart of my teenage life and over the past 13 years, I met wonderful people that share the same interests and we can speak freely on movies. I don't use anything else but IMDB and its msg board to communicate about movies. Please keep it!!

I doubt I'll return to IMDB very much without the comments sections.

Please, I'm begging you, let your thousands of eager users know what we can do to help. Or find a way to hand the boards over to the community...but you are doing the world a heartbreaking disservice by wiping out these boards, which hold a rich history of intimate discussions of obscure films, much of it by people who aren't even around anymore. Find someone to sell the boards to...just please do what it takes to keep them alive.

Message boards are the one feature that sets IMDB apart from others

Hey. Been using your site for more than a decade. The message boards are vital part of that site. No one wants to discuss the movies on facebook since your comment is lost among thousand of other comments wich makes it impossible to keep up a discussion. Movie pages on FB change names all the time, making it impossible to keep track of movies and discussions are lost forever. Rethink this decision because this will cost you countless of users.

please keep the IMDB forums open. all viewers have to do is ignore the threads that turn bad due to the immature mindsets. the comment section is a great resource for learning about plots, behind scene info, and similar films that may interest us.

Please keep the message boards going. I enjoy reading the reviews about the movies and the actors. I understand about those who violate rules and post crazy stuff. Please don't make true IMDb fans suffer because of those who can't be nice.

I check the IMDB messageboards after every single movie to see others opinions or to understand the plot - a faclift would be nice but you can not take away the messageboards!

I've been on IMDb with an account since May 2001 (and I'm only 29--that was the month of my 14th birthday!). It's literally been over half my life that I've known about IMDb. The boards were 90% of the reason I liked the site in the first place. It was easy to track down the one other person on the planet (sometimes it felt that way) that had watched the same very old movie or show or wanted to talk about some less-known actor, besides the ones that obviously have huge amounts of fans. You could find people talking about ANY movie, show or person, not just worldwide fanbase-level phenomena sure to have dedicated forums elsewhere. It was irreplaceable and there is no way to bring that back, no matter how many threads are started.

Long time IMDB forum visitor; I've only ever visited IMDB to go to the boards to have a discussion on a movie I've just watched. You will lose me as a website visitor.

Being a member since 2000 I'm saddened by the decision to end the IMDb message boards. Please reconsider. We need this place to share, enlighten and educate.

It would be such a shame to see the message boards go. Of course, not everyone is nice on there... but you get that everywhere. It really is a great place to discuss movies, ask questions, and get to know other fans. Truly, it would be sad to see it go. Moving to Twitter/Facebook is not the same. Please reconsider your decision. As you can see, plenty of people still use it and come to your site not only for movie info, but to discuss in depth with other fans about movies/tv shows. Your site would be used considerably less by me and many others if you follow through with this. Please rethink it.

I'm very sorry to hear that the message boards are closing. And even more sorry to find that they are going to be deleted altogether. I visit the site while watching series on Netflix, on the drive home after watching a movie, in the middle of a movie on network TV when I have a question about a plot line. All. The. Time. It's one of my favorite places on the entire internet. I'm not on FB and Twitter isn't for movie discussion. Please, please reconsider.

I like reading the IMDb message boards and was disappointed they were being shut down.
