I'm very surprised that you're shutting down the boards. I can't help but think this will have a negative impact! I know that there are misguided people out there who derive great pleasure from being trolls. Pretty pathetic! But as an ADULT, I make the choice to ignore them. Why not let the other people on the boards IGNORE them too? I've enjoyed the boards for years & to be honest, they're the main reason I use IMDb. Where else is there such a wealth of info from fellow entertainment fans? Why let those bad apples spoil it for all the rest of us? Please consider all the other decent loyal users & don't punish us for the misdeeds of the trolls by closing down the boards. That's not fair to us.

It's a bummer that most of us imdb.com message posters have to suffer the loss, due to those trolls and their toxic remarks. We humbly request that you reconsider your decision,

Message boards are the most valuable part of IMDB. Doing away with them is a foolish move. Monitor them better instead. Don't deprive the internet of an extremely valuable info resource for lame reasons.

Please keep the message boards! They are an invaluable source of information from and discussion with other film fans! There is no reason to discontinue them!

I've been an IMDB member for over 20 years, with 17 years on the forums. I may not post much, but I do seek out the discussions to see what others think, or caught from movies and shows. To have the main draw of a 250m user website just deactivated, because there's no revenue from it, when they are a 292.6 billion dollar company (Amazon) is absurd.

The comment boards are the best part of IMDB, hands down, don't do away with them, they give us millions of different viewpoints on tons of different movies, and I really love that, keep the boards.

The message boards are the best part of IMDB, please don't shut them down. Why let the few (trolls) spoil it for the many. I enjoy coming to the boards to see what other people have to say about a particular show/movie.

I have found loads of useful information and gotten in contact with directors, stars, etc from movies that otherwise wouldn't have a "voice." Please keep the boards.

The only reason I come to this site is to discuss my favorite shows. I have been doing it since 2002. If you shut the boards down I have no use for your site. All I do is come to message boards.

Posting this with tears in my eyes. I joined imdb in 2002. As an avid film fan, I've found the boards indispensable. After perusing the film data I usually migrate over the the message board. I'm completely devastated.

Agree with everyone else. The message boards are vital for discussing the deeper meaning of films and working out the unclear plot points etc. And for discussing the "goofs" that are listed incorrectly!
