No where else on the Internet do I know of a way to discuss movies so thoroughly and through so many different viewpoints and interpretations. The message boards are essential in giving us movie viewers a forum through which to communicate and imdb and never be the same without. Remove the message boards and you will lose a huge potential of site traffick. If you remove them and do lose a significant portien of site traffick, please return them.

I feel like I need to take a leave from work like I still can't process it like I went to Chewing Gum board 30 mins ago as I just finished it and that notice/advisory...really bad news for me as it's routine for me to go there and read about different theories or something I missed in a film and rewatch it and appreciate it more. I read reviews on AV Club but IMDB message board is different. Are there other places??? Like i'm not surrounded by film lovers and this is where I get my dose of film vitamins. I discovered a lot of great films and soundtracks from recommendations of other users.

If you're offended stay off the boards don't ruin it for the people who enjoy it. I always get the info I need from the boards you're going to lose viewers on your site.

I've never actually posted anything on the message boards. But i read them every time I look a movie up. Getting rid of them is just plain silly. I won't be using IMDb nearly as much with no message boards to read. And the old messages have already been deleted. I enjoyed reading what people thought about the movie long ago.

Surely there are ways to weed out the trolls and sort the ratings system out. Not being able to check the boards for interpretations and theories is going to be a real loss for many fun fans, particularly those who enjoy films with little exposure outside of dedicated pages.

The message boards are my favorite thing about IMDb! I visit the message board for every film, TV show and actor/actress that I look up! It's the most interesting part of your site along with the trivia section. Please don't take away the message boards!

The message boards are one of the best parts of IMDb. It's great to hear what people really think and sometimes they are extremely entertaining. Too bad they don't really care.
