Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

No please dont!! i love imdb messageboards and love to see what others are saying especially obscure films which hardly any one knows :(

The message boards are the reason I even use imdb. If they care about their users then they should listen to us and keep the boards alive!

As a frequent visitor but never-poster, this still really saddens me. The message boards are my favorite places to go when I'm feeling nostalgic or curious about old favorites, or pumped up after watching something new. This is a travesty.

The IMDB message boards are a valuable source of associated information about television shows, movies and other forms of entertainment, and an important, active and much-loved online community.

PLEASE, PLEASE don't conclude the wonderful IMDb message boards feature. I've been saddened since learning of the imminent closing, and how much will be lost, both from throughout recent years and also going forward. It feels like a death. I am a lover of vintage movies, and there's no better place than here to share about specific movies with others interested in the same specific movies, and specific long-ago stars and even lesser actors and actresses. Same for t.v. shows and the such. I don't do "social media" (Twitter, etc.). So without the IMDb message boards, that's the end of wonderful interaction with others out there who happen to be interested in and enjoy the same things, and/or who have questions about this or that that they hope to have answered by others in the know. We all will be grateful if you keep the boards up, running, alive, and well, and securely in place for posterity. I posted to various movies boards years back, doing what I think were high quality posts, thinking it was forever, and hate for all that to be lost. Thank you for keeping the boards going indefinitely.

Closing the messageboard for all the individual movies and shows is a sad choice. It is my go-to place to interact with other people and read up on their opinions. Losing that feature is a nail in the coffin of IMDB. There is no such interaction on the mentioned social media sites.

Please don't do this! It's by far the best feature on IMDb

Enjoy going to the boards to get other insights or updates on actors/movies/tv shows etc. Please don't shut the boards down, i may not always post but have enjoyed them for a long time.

message boards are a positive and useful way to converse about our favorite movies right on your website instead of having to go to a chatroom not associated with your site. it keeps people on your site longer isn't that an incredibly positive way of seeing this?

the comments allow me to understand aspects of films that i may have missed or misunderstood ,

I use the message boards all the time to understand bits of a movie or show that I didn't always 'get' at the time. Please don't remove them.

I love the messageboards they are great. I'm able to find out about other movies that I haven't seen or heard about and then go look then up. All the other websites that they mentioned people won't talk about old, rare or movies from other countries they just talk about they latest movies/TV shows. So please kept them open or I don't see why I even decide to become a member BECAUSE that was the resin why I become a member

Please keep the message boards.

I've been on these boards for more than 10 years and these boards changed my entire life, and allowed me to become the person I am today by interacting with a lot of really great people. Don't take that from others.

Can't believe the IMDb message boards are being axed. They're not even going to archive it?! The sheer scale of topics and discussion that will be lost is mind-boggling.

Don't take this away from us. We have made this place the go to board on the web

The boards are the only reason I go on IMDB, without the boards I won't go on the site anymore.
