Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

Please keep the messageboards alive: I love to read the comments and opinions from different users.

we love imdb very informative, abreast of details

Please don't take this feature away! It's so fun interacting with fans and asking questions about our favorite TV Shows and films. It's the best park of IMDB and I visit these message boards on the regular. Don't take them away!!!!

Keep the board pls!!

A single message board for each title and person is (was?) what makes IMDb unique. I don't want to miss the experience of watching a movie and then hurrying to the IMDb boards to read opinions, comments, questions, recommendations and crazy theories about it.

This is obviously about money and not the lame excuse you gave us. What next book burning???? Not only is it impossible to have a coherent and organised conversation on social media, but do you know that trolling is rampant on Twitter and Facebook? How is this helping by making us go there? I would gladly pay a subscription fee and by signing up with a credit card you can track trolls and ban them there and then. Please for goodness sakes reconsider closing the boards and look at OPTIONS! There are many more than just deleting the boards.

If IMDB.COM removes the message boards, I will no longer use their site. Please do not remove the boards!

Please keep the boards up. There's always going to be good and the bad. I feel as though the good out weighs the bad. Having gone to imdb message boards for over 10 years, I can't help but feel extremely upset that its going to be shut down. I'm hoping my signature will show that I care for the message boards, and it can remain open to the public. Thank you ~Monique

The excuse they gave as to why is beyond ridiculous... the boards and the rating system are 2 of the strongest points of the site. To say that it is not active and that social media platforms can pick up the slack is just plain incorrect, my use of social media is a fraction of what it once was, the message boards allow for more depth as well as not having your personal profile connected. Its just all incredibly suspect, as is the totally brutal and immediate way they have carried this decision out, I really wish there could be repercussions for these kind of corporate 'we have all the power' decisions and the subsequent blatant lies to the consumers. Rant over, just wish it could be boycotted and send a message that there bloated egos rest on the shoulders of their users but sadly that kind of mobilisation of 'the people' seldom/never seems to happen and they know this.

The imdb boards are my most helpful resource.

Why not change a fee, and keep the boards? Win, Win!!

Half the value of IMDb comes from the lively message boards.

Seriously, imdb!? You're disabling message boards. Majority of my time is spent on the boards!! This is unfair!

The message boards have been a source of daily pleasure for as long as I gave been using the Internet and the only site I use as much today, if not more, as I did in the early part of the 21st century. Nowhere else can one go to delve into the nuances of each and every film, no matter how small. It will be a real injustice to cinema and to the folks that kept you alive if you remove this feature. Please rethink your policy in the name of cinematic integrity.

OMG these boards are extremely useful! PLease stay!

I've been a user since 2006 and always come onto the message boards to discuss movies and actors. Hearing that it's being shut down had really hurt me as dramatic as that sounds, these boards are such a great place. If anything, there should be better moderation but to just do away with it completely, please don't IMDB!!
