I am so sad! After watching a film I'd go onto the website to see what other people thought of the film and to get answers to questions I had. Now what are we going to use?!

There is no reason to kill off the message boards, many people like to use them to talk about a movie,.

I have been using IMDb's message board for several years and have not encountered anything terribly negative. In fact, this has been the most civil message board I've ever used. Please reconsider.

Pier, I wonder why you are under the impression that "trolls" are the reason for the reckless decision to close the Message Board? Because the IMDb mngmt have not said the same in their IMDb Message Boards Announcement at all.

The trolls were mostly present on recent/popular boards like The Walking Dead/Game of Thrones.
I've been to a lot of boards with no sign of any "trolls". By closing down the forums you're letting them win.
It can't be so hard to have a bit of moderation. I'm sure you'll have hundreds of people willing to do that for free!
And in any case, those of us that used the board for intelligent discussions are being punished. While the trolls will find *any* other forum and continue doing the same.
For shame, IMDB.

I go to the site multiple times a week to discuss shows. It is the best part. We are not fragile snowflakes, we can handle people that do not agree with us.

Please do NOT do away the IMDb message boards! It's one of the main reasons I visit your site. It's the fastest way to find info and rumors about celebrities, movies and television shows!

Any user of IMDB calling to close the boards because they have been abused online? No. People writing stupid comments or trolling on forums is not nice, but it does happen. Users can man up and get over it, so why can't IMDB? It's a ridiculous excuse to destroy what for many is the ONLY reason they use the site. If the boards go, in favour of the IMBD social media - because yeah, that's a good reason, not! - it will mean a lot less traffic for IMDB. Discussing actors, films and any small nuance of either is NOT possible on social media. Obviously the people in charge of IMDB don't know this. Lots of people will go elsewhere. Oh well, IMDB's loss. That's what happens when you shoot yourself in the foot.
