The comments are so important... I love to read them. And, guess what? I know how to skip over trolls. It is surprisingly easy.

I am against the imminent withdrawal of the message boards. I don't think it is fair to those people, the majority, who are respectful and use the boards to exchange ideas and information. They are taking so many things away from us - don't add this to the list.

I don't belong to social media sites, nor do I wish to. But the IMDB boards have given me countless hours of enjoyment and heaps of movie, movie star, and t.v. information over these many years. Please do not take that away. IMDB will be a shadow of its' former self.

Pier, who said "trolls" are the reason for IMDb to pull down Message Board? Certainly not IMDb? They have not stated that in their Message Boards Announcement at all.

The forum is one of the real values of IMDB, without it where am I going to find that? The social media is not an option, that's stupid.

One of the best things about living in the free world is the ability to share opinions and have meaningful discussions. Shocked and saddened to learn that IMDB is shutting down its best feature. Hopefully this is not a portent of things to come in America.

Save the boars. It's the best thing about the site.

As the main place I look at reviews and discussions for movies I'm disappointed. No boards? No more users then. Why? Who wants to just post mindless reviews with no discussion? Nobody goes to IMDb just for news, there are loads of ways to get the same information, Wikipedia is probably the first way I look for info, film or not. Don't destroy your own community, they're a gift, not a burden. Don't be afraid to weed out the bad apples instead of chucking the whole barrel away.

Please keep the boards alive.....it is the only way for many to discuss and find answers to questions on important movies, shows, and other issues. Not everyone uses or intends to use social media......so that's not an option for many dedicated users of IMDB.

I enjoy the boards especially after watching a film to go in and see what other people thought of it. The discussions can be lively and fun.

This ranks up there with the "New Coke" some years ago. I bet that traffic at IMDB will drop by half - how would your advertisers like that?

I've been a member for 12 yrs now and have really enjoyed the boards, especially when watching shows with cliffhangers or open endings, so this decision is very disappointing to say the least

It's optional to go on the message boards so if people don't like trolls or spoilers on the message boards then they don't have to go on it in the first place.

The message boards are my main reason for coming to imdb. I've been a member since July 2003

The data in a database sometimes isn't enough. The best outcome of data is knowledge, and the best outcome of knowledge his wisdom.
