I don't understand. Operating a Message Bard costs close to nothing. So what does IMDb gain by closing them? Apart from frustrating "passionate" (IMDb's own words) users. This makes no sense.

The message boards are the first thing I go to after the trivia section. If they are gone there really isn't much of a reason for me to visit IMDb.
