I joined IMDb so I could read and contribute on the message boards. OK, so there are some "strange" posts, but I'm willing to overlook those, because I enjoy hearing the views of other film lovers like me. I don't like FB or twitter. Too invasive! Even get a kick out of some of the spoilers ! Please keep the boards !

Really always enjoy the message boards aspect of IMDB...especially because I didn't need to have a Facebook account to access it! I'll never join Facebook.

I am learning so much obscure movies from people on the boards, you can't control everyone on the internet, trolls will be trolls.

At least keep the content either on a separate site or as read only. So many comments in the boards added substance to the movies and or information on the actors.

I'm an avid movie watcher and every time I need to decide if that particular movie suits my mood I read the boards. They are so helpful. Most of the IMDB users know's how to use the boards content on their behalf. In an era of flood information people need to learn how to quickly select what they want to read and not get triggered by trolls or opposite opinions.

I have been visiting the message boards daily for years now and doubt the would be any reason for me to visit the website without them. You are set to lose a huge following! I didn't post often, but I read and visited daily. I would bet there is a huge amount of people who are like me in this regard.

This is a slap in the face to those who helped build IMDb's empire. I've been a contributing member for 12 years, had to stop posting because you let the trolls and bullies take over. Everyone came there. Instead of listening to complaints you shut down free speech? No interest in giving Amazon $ if this goes through.

I've been a member since 2005 and the discussion boards are the number one reason I go there. I find answers to all my movie questions and visit these boards daily. I can't even express in words how disappointed this announcement makes me feel. Please reconsider this horrible decision.

Please keep the message boards. I check them daily for comments on my favorite TV shows as well as current and older movies. The site will not be the same without the boards. The positives way outweigh the negatives.
